    Default XM radio

I had the BRP XM radio installed by my dealer. I can not find how to bring up the "0" channel to be able to see the ID # to activate the radio. When I get to the screen where the channel #s should be there is nothing there.

I did find this in an old post in RT Shop talk.(search does turn up a nugget now and again)

    http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/s...t=radio+tuning

check out post # 35 and 36. My problem is there is nothing in either the category screen or the channel screen.

Is it listed in the paperwork that came with the radio?

The installing dealer should be responsible for letting you know what you need to activate the unit.
If they can't do that, they shouldn't get paid.

Thank you for all the replies. I know how to get the ID,just tune to channel "0". The problem is that when I bring up the screen that is supposed to show the categories and the channels there is nothing there, the screens are blank. I am looking for a reason or a remedy for this

Are you getting a good Sat signal to the antenna?

You should at least get the preview station on channel 184 or channel 1. I believe it is. Then you know you got a signal for sure.

Where is the XM antenna mounted?

I am assuming you have already acquired a subscription from Sirius/XM. I use my Garmin 665 and XM-40 antennae for XM radio. Speakers or

    Bluetooth headset.

I think that is a bad assumption.
You need the radio ID number BEFORE you get the subscription.

A couple of rather obvious solutions have been offered already:
Call Sirius/XM or contact the installing dealer.......and yet the OP seems to be ignoring both suggestions.

The antenna is mounted on the top lip of trunk just under the lid. That is where the installation instructions say to mount it.

Is it facing up or down?

You may not get a good signal under the lid of the trunk. I got rid of the puck type and got a antenna type for the XM.

Try moving it out of the trunk and face it upward towards the sky.

Like I said you should have something playing on channels 1 or 184

I have the brp sirrius module which was installed by the dealer,my antenna, puck,is on the shelf under the lid in the trunk also.I have no recepition problems,as stated you should get a preview channel on 1 and ID on 0.If your not getting anything I would revisit dealer to make sure they connected everything correctly.

I will have to take back to the dealer, but that is in the future as he is over 100 miles away and a day off work. I am hoping for a solution I can apply here or maybe I am not accessing the radio right. It may be a vein hope but at least it gives me something to do until I can get back north.

Thank you all for your responses.
