Default Too many problems for a single week

Good morning. Today it started to rain on the way to work and I raised the windshield. After that I cannot lower it.
The park brake goes OK so I think is not a fuse problem.

Just a few days ago I had a problem with the gearshift indicator and it was solved by magic.

Could I be having a battery problem or are independent issues? What do you thing?
    Thank you.

Oh, yeah! How I didn't realize it before?...... Maybe the gremlin's bell fuse or the relay are not OK.

How old is your battery? Also have you looked at the arm that raises and lowers the windshield? Is it cracked or breaking?

Magic huh? I need some of that.

    Default Well....

I like to call them glitches... sometimes a missed shift or light bump on the paddle (SE) can send the wrong message to the system. A few shifts or a reboot and all is well again. Buds will see this but for us it's magic...The windshield not so much. If the arm broke (does happen quite often) in the up position then it may still be working but just the arm is going up and down otherwise there is a motor/electical power issue going on....

I'm starting to believe in gremlins

Yesterday at 18:00 aprox, when I returned home everything went OK. The same this morning.

    I don't understand.

Battery is the original. So will be 6 years old but I installed a Voltimeter in place the temperature gauge and when I put the contact on the needle points 12,4 Volts. When I start up the needle points more or less 14 Volts. So I understand that is ok but ......
The windshield arm is OK despite all the windshield has too much lateral play.
I revised and thigtened all screws but the play continues. It seems to be cause the retainer pins have too much slack.
I notice it specially in situations where one of the front wheels goes throug a pothole and the other does not.

Of couse is better that problems go out than stay in, but my feelings are of insecurity and I hate do not have idea about what is happening.

    Thanks for your help.

If you got six years out of the battery, you did well. Time for another one!

SIX YEARS? you do understand that seeing your battery has 12 volts, doesn't get things moving. Then
you would be talking AMPS. Six years is about twice the life of any powersports battery. Consider
    yourself lucky, and replace.

    I forget to comment.

Replaced the battery (same as original one) and gremlins went out. Thank you very much!

Glad to hear you got the issue(s) solved. The main culprit when there are electrical glitches--seems-- to be battery getting ready to crash.

Six years--you did real well. I have usually changed mine out at four years--whether they need it or not. I don't like the thought of getting stranded out in the big nowhere. When they do crash--that is what will happen.

    Default Battery

2 years is normal. After that, the first hint of trouble, good bye! Unless it is a lithium ion. I used a Mirai and a Shorai; fantastic! Weighs so much less, crazy powerful. Twice the money, 5 times the life. Worth every penny! YMMV, Joe

I also have a Shorai battery in my V-Max. 5 years now( maybe even 6 ) with no signs of voltage loss, Easily starts the Max after sitting un charged for a month. Weighs nothing. OK ---- maybe a pound and a half.

    Sorry but not true.

A name brand AGM battery that is taken care of just a little should last at least 4 years and many go 5 or more.

And that applies to any "street vehicle", not just Spyders.

They've got a lot more heat to deal with in his location... it literally cooks everything!
That can make all of the difference...

Having said that: I've always gotten 4 years from my OEM batteries

    Quite true.
If it is constantly exposed to the heat in the desert that definitely can make a difference.
But that is no excuse for stating that situation as being "normal" for everybody.
