The best way to adjust the belt tension, that I have found, is by using a tension device called the cricket. The cricket, at least the one I have is made by/for Gates tire and rubber. The cricket will establish the correct tension anytime that you want to check. The device is simple and repeatable, I keep one in the tool kit. Cost is around $10-14.00.
Good Luck

Don't know. ..!!
Rule of thumb is you should not be able to twist the belt 90° . Best is about 45° but the kricket is the way to go. The sonic ones they supposidly use are very pricy..

Belt twist is not a good way to go as everyone's twist is different. The Krikit II is by far the best bang for the buck. They are re-branded as Dayco, Gates, etc. But they are all the same.

Which model of Dayco Krikit?
When I google this part, they list several model numbers. Which one is the right one?
