2016 RT Tools Help

Hi All:
I am new to the Spyder world and will have many questions. But for now just 1, I just purchased a gently used 2016 RT-S w/ 1250 miles Thought it was new when I saw at the dealer. The RT came with extras Trunk rack, back rest and passenger arm rest. But what it didn't come with was the tool kit. So what I could use some help with is what tools came with the kit and what tools should be carried while riding in case of an emergency. I have a vast array of tools as I have been an auto mechanic, an electrician and production repair mechanic, I have a vast amount of SAE, Metric, and even British Whitworth (as I have a 1967 650 Triumph) So any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I have searched the forums with no success if there is a post that list the tools please let me know what forum.

Raise the seat up, and take a look at the rear, right-hand underside of it.
The tool pouch "should be" strapped to the bottom of the seat back there.

If you'd like to just replace the tool kit, you can buy one for about $55 from www.cheapcycleparts.com, part # 704700158.

I don't remember the contents of the kit, but a basic kit for the byke should include:

• a set of star drivers
• a set of metric allen wrenches
• a flat head and phillips head screwdriver
• a 10mm wrench
• a fuse puller and replacement fuses

I think you could just about disassemble the bike with those basic tools.

I made a kit by going around and sizing all the fasteners I thought I would reasonably remove in the field. There really aren't that many. I keep an electronic copy of the repair manual on my smartphone.

I had a 1967 Bonneville when I was younger. Biggest mistake I ever made was selling that beauty.

Tool kit is usually under the seat as Bob D. said or it may be in the frunk behind the liner.

Mostly useless except for very minor repairs. I have added an assorted torx set and some blue lock tight. Others carry a tire patch kit and a portable pump. I am not mechanical so will have to wait for the tow in the event of a mechanical breakdown.

Essentials are Torx 30, a flat tip screwdriver for removing push pins and a 10 mm socket. That will get your Spyder undressed.

.... FOR $55.00 I could buy all the torx and hex sockets plus screw drivers ( that can reverse & rachet ) and small floor jack ..... All except the floor jack can be put in the trunk .... Mike

You got the better end of the deal, my tool kit on my 2016 RTS was in the rear trunk Velcroed to the bottom. Good luck

Sweet, I love the color. Sorry about your tools but they are not the big of a deal, a couple wrenches and like 4 or 5 torx screwdrivers. if you need specifics let me know.

Just picked up our 2016 RT Limited last week. I was looking for the tool kit also, looked under the seat, No tools or straps to be found. Are they not included or just missing?

My tools for my 2016 RTL were in the rear trunk all the way down in the bottom as well.

Same here.. Found them in the very bottom of the rear trunk on my 2016 RT, SM6.
