It looks like a MotorTrike conversion. I never really cared for their looks. (IMHO)

I love the Goldwing. It is definitely the Hallmark of motorcycles. But is it just me or is this conversion well over into the UGLY side of the scale?

I prefer the appearance of the Sturgis and Hannigan conversions.

With a little work that frunk could be molded to be much more integrated with the bike overall and become a beauty. Assuming it retains the best aspects of the Wing I would try it out.

Champion is the "american group" that you speak of. They originally took the Lehman Monarch II body kit and put their IRS driveline under it, and called it a Lehman. If you google Lehman Trikes, you will find a current internet presence. The address is the same as for the Champion factory.

The coffin nose kills it for me. Add in the fact that local dealers will not work on any conversion, and they say the warranty is voided. All three are deal breakers.

Yes I have seen it, even in person. It is even uglier in real life. That box is so opposed to the styling of the rest of the bike as to cause a real clash of design. Hannigan's front wheel conversion is better looking but still not a real winner.

Good analysis. And I'm sure they worked hard on it too. So it's probably not for lack of trying. But it still looks like welding the back of a Mercedes to the front of a Nash Rambler. It just can't work aesthetically.

The front looks like something a rich person might bury their large dog in. I'm sorry. Maybe others will see beauty where I see a travesty perpetrated upon a beautiful machine.

    Hannigan's offering:

    And the one from Sturgis:

A frunk is available in the Hannigan; I'm not sure that it is available with the Sturgis conversion.

A friend on mines Dad did this to his Gold Wing and he loves it. He had trouble holding his bike up but this allows him to keep riding. What ever allows us to keep riding I'm all for it!!!

I have often wondered what it would be like to have a Goldwing engine and shaft drive in a Spyder. These Goldwing conversions look huge!

My favorite RT conversion is the leaning one from Tilting Motor Works. I saw the Motor Trike conversion, like the one in the OP's link, the Hanigan one, the TMW one, and a fourth one that I can't remember who, at Wing Ding last fall in Billings, MT.

I don't have time to look up my WD photos but I remember the MT conversion being a little different styling than their current one, and in person it looked better than the pics. The Motor Trike company owner said his son took their RT conversion around a 45 mph signed curve at 83 mph!

But the Spyder has them all beat since the design from ground up is 3 wheels.

That's not too bad. Better than that square box on the front.
