I think there's a thread with some good tips already started.

I have an RT but it might work on the other models. It's possible that the rubber seal slipped. Have someone push down on the frunk lip gently while you turn the key.

Default HOW TO OPEN FRUNK - con'td

Sorry but among my other shortcomings I can't do LINKS ....... But good news I found my written instructions which another member used and it worked great ..... In the search box above type ( in capitals ) STUCK FRUNK .... when the answers pop up ... the fourth one down from spyd-man (?) is the Thread .... go to that and my post is # 15 ... it worked for Him ...... good luck ..... Mike ........ PS the plastic hood is a lot stronger than you think, so you don't need to worry it will break ..... unless you try to go 6 inches plus ......

Default same thing happened to me.

I bought a cheap set of mixing spoons with the long round handle. If you slide the handle between the lip of the frunk toward the latch, you can catch the release. This happened to me a couple times, so I always travel with a mixing spoon with a long round handle.

Default could be a bad ignition switch

I had sporadic problem getting frunk to release and to relatch on my 2014 RT-S recently. The ignition switch was eventually replaced under warranty. In the mean time, the tech instructed me to put the key in the ignition and give it a quick, sharp rap to activate the frunk mechanism. It worked well until I could get the switch replaced.
