Default New Spyder Owner here with a million dollar question

Hello, I will be a new owner of a base F3 next Saturday. I ordered a bunch of accessories (windshield, backrest, and shad bags)from the dealer to put on the trike before I pick it up. I have been reading through a lot of the posts on here and got to wondering. Should I get a new belt damper and new rear shock while it's at the dealer or should I wait and find out if my unit will have the same issues that others are having? Is there anything else I am missing that will improve the performance of the trike right from the start?

    Thanks in advance

and on the new F3. If you have not already--here are some do's and don'ts that many find helpful.

I usually recommend riding it a thousand miles or so before doing any performance enhancing mods. It may turn out you like the way your is set up--and save some bucks in the process.

You can always have more farkles put on when you bring it in for the break-in oil/filter service at 3400 miles.

Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

I would wait. Some have vibration, some don't. You can see how it goes and add them later when you return to the dealer for oil change or ? I haven't added anything to Mr. Cognac as he seems okay as is. Enjoy your new ride.

Might as well wait on the belt dampener. Put some miles on and if you get the vibration in that 67-72 mph range, you can install one very easily. Don't know if you need the new rear shock if you are riding solo, but that too can be answered with a few hundred miles on her. Two up, might want to look into it. I will recommend the beefier sway bar, tho. Just installed one on my F3S and could tell an immediate difference. Enjoy your new ride!

Rear shock as supplied is - how can I say it nicely - not substantial.

Brp two up shock is inexpensive and in my view a high priority. I am not heavy, ride solo, and wouldn't be without it. As you are buying new, I highly recommend this change - perhaps negotiate a good deal? Someone posted USD170 for this shock.

Here is a pic of the two shocks, originally posted here by Dan.

I agree with this upgrade. I ride solo and I'm not that heavy and the spring on the original shock really jarred my back. belt dampener/sway bar is something I'd wait on. I am 2.5 years in and over 30K miles on my F3 and haven't found the need for either.
