    Default Wholly molly

Wonder who gets those units after they pass the course. Some own their own and should most definitely add a bumpskid on both sides...

The Yonkers Police Motorcycle School was created in 1992 and started as a 5 day course. It has evolved into a 10 day instructional school that includes classroom, cone courses and field rides. Upon graduation all graduates are provided with a DCJS certified diploma. Throughout the years and through input from many different instructors from numerous agencies this school has developed into a challenging course that attracts potential motorcycle officers from throughout the New York Tri State area. This is a collaborative effort that includes instructors from MTA, NYPD, Yorktown(Sgt. Paul Dillon), New Castle, Greenburgh, Bedford, Clarkstown, Dutchess County, Putnam County, Westchester County and Stamford Ct. This school has an extraordinary success rate and is a credit to these very instructors. This years students came from the following departments: Yonkers, Mt. Vernon, White Plains, Larchmont, Harrison, Eastchester, Clarkstown, Duchess County, Putnam County, Stamford Ct.

ATGATT? Apparently not. Don't teach beginners not properly geared up. I see much road rash in their future.

I didn't smirk or guffaw at their lack of expertise because I saw myself doing all of those things. My 2 wheel bike handling skills leave lots of room for improvement.

I take my hat off to the two doing tight figure of 8s in the dark within a small oval of cones

And that's what training is for: to learn what you don't know yet!

But he still has to learn to keep his feet on the pegs!
Catch that foot in a pothole or on a curb, and it'll spin that poor thing around on your ankle!

The thing I noticed the he did was something that was taught in the course that I took, which the instructors hammered us on. When he was turning, he always turned his head to look at where he wanted to go, rather than just looking at the front of the bike. For me, that was a lesson well learned, and it is just second nature to me now. Oh, and Bob, you are right about his feet. Hurt 4.jpg

i used to ride with a guy richie from new jersey. he was a bike instructor and teacher. it was like riding with mr. know it all. he watched everything i did and made sure he commented on it. he also would get upset on a tight turn if anyone didn't turn their heads to the turn
