Default THE THREE POINT DESTINATION LOOP ---

    DSCF8166.jpg---A ride report –

The three destinations we had to shoot for were :-

    1. Arlington National Cemetery --- cause we missed it by a half mile 13 years ago and always regretted it.
    2. Mount Pocono, PA –-- to see dear friends we'd been promising to for too many years.
    3. Rugby, ND --- to be at the Geographic Center of North America, just because.

    A few stats :-
Three up on the bike – myself, Deb and Kreel --- our great grand daughters cuddly kitten, tied to the top case luggage rack. Didn't hear it meow once the whole trip.
    States ridden through numbered 19
Days on the road numbered 19
    Miles covered was 6,336

Not our first multi hundred mile trip on a motorcycle, but the first on the Spyder.
2015 RT-L, which (apart from a previously mentioned parking brake glitch) performed absolutely flawlessly. Started and stopped every time we asked it and took every road condition with ease.
Freeway, Toll Roads, sweepers and tight fast ones – no complaints here.

Out of all those miles, only 150 of them was done in pouring rain – talk about lucky.
The bike dashboard did “black out”twice though – the problem being 5 mile long traffic jams where the bike thermometer ran as high as 118 degrees – Deb took pics to prove it :-)

Many miles, smiles, people and places added for us, although I think the cat met more peeps than me –lol.

Now all I have to do is whittle down 1,000 photo's to a manageable number, and to pick out only a few to post here.
    I'll be back.

Kreel -- fit to be tied -- down on the back, that is.

Our buddy, Mark, who needed to get outta town for a while, so was our escort for the 1st 400 miles.

    DSCF7423.jpgDSCF7453.jpg
Couple of shots from CO. Pretty cool rock formations. Deb went crazy with the camera, this just one.

A real sad looking "shoe tree" in Hinckley, UT Nowhere near as impressive as the original in NV that was hacked down a few years ago

Good food at this little cafe in Blue Springs, MO. They'd only been open for a week and still trying to get the word out.

Great friends (Brian & Jan) and their family in Mount Pocono, PA. -- They put us up for 2 nights
Couldn't remember just how many years had passed since we last hooked up ... we were informed -- 19 years !!! Tempus Fugit !
Their girls (Emma & Sarah) were high schoolers when we were neighbors in CA -- they now have families of their own !!

    DSCF7552.jpg
The "welcome center" in Black Springs, IN -- really nice building for a welcome center, and we found many more like it.
Don't ever remember seeing as nice a center in CA

    Traffic through Chicago, IL.
Actually much worse than the pics show -- stop and go all the way through.
We got real low on gas at the start of the city and Zumo saved the day (again !) directing us off a half mile away to a quick mart that looked as if it came right out of an episode of "Cops" LOL
    Gas is gas though, wherever

    The relative quiet of MN.
Having never been through this State before we were pleasantly surprised at the amount of open space and farmland.

Destination #3 -- Rugby. ND -- Geographic center of North America -- Yeah !! Tuck that one safely under our belts.
And thanks to the forum member who posted up their south to north ride to this location, else we wouldn't have done this ourselves.

Question -- is 5 pics per post the limit ?

More pics of peeps and places later if that's OK. Not so many of the bike as we all know what a Spyder looks like by now.

The heat and traffic in PA one day on the road. 1 hour 45 to travel approx 3 miles miserable, miserable.
Sweat running down our faces off our eyebrows and soaking wet t-shirts. Take the bad with the overall good though

I'll close out this RR then with the antics of Kreel Kitten
Our plan is to compile the 90 odd pics into a Story Photobook for Carter, our great grand daughter -- hope she likes it as much as we enjoyed draggin' that feline around.
    Here's but a small few ---
