    Default Peesh peesh

Can anyone tell me why my 2015 Spyder RTL makes a like peesh peesh noise when I back up. Could it be my rear shock making that noise or could it be something else. I just purchased the bike a week ago from a dealership. I took it for my first ride today had to wait to pass the course first before I could get insurance on it. They are a awesome machine.

    Default Mine too

My 2016 does that too, I'm no professional. I just assumed it was the Air suspension.

Probably the air ride letting out air.
The air bag ride is not adjusted (pumped up or letting out air) until you put it in gear.
So chances are your putting it in reverse as the first gear you put it in after starting.

It is the air suspension making adjustments. Will happen as well when riding two up and the passenger falls off.

Mine is more of a pish push sound - accompanied by a loud scream when my wife fell off 😂

It appears that most if not all Spyders exhibit Brake squeal when backing up ..... could it be this ???? ... Mike

Even my ST has made a similar sound. Have to go double check now but I thought was more of the belt adjusting on the sprocket than sound of air not quite rubbing but very similar & only on belt side when moving.

Geez, before a panic starts about belts and brakes -- put a passenger on the back and take them for a short ride. If you hear the sound after they get off it's the air suspension releasing pressure no longer needed due to the lack of a passenger.
