Got My F3-T!

Well, I finally bit the bullet and got my F3-T!

Now I've got a question about controlling acceleration/speed thru left turns (from a standing start). I tend to accelerate more thru left turns than right turns. Could that be because my right hand has to reach a bit to remain on the throttle, resulting in applying more throttle than I intend to? (I hope that makes sense....).

I was already wondering whether I'd be better off with moving the handlebars closer to me (via U-Fit). Maybe this is an indicator that it might be a good idea? Or maybe I just need to practice more? (I have no such issues with a right turn.)

Your assumption could be correct, however my initial thought was a difference in posture or weight shift.
Perhaps you also are more confident turning one way than the other and some drills with specific conscious thought while ryding may be in order.

Make mental notes about your hands, weight and posture while making different turns and I would wager that you will find a difference, maybe just a shoulder or head position.

you need to give it some time to get used to things. now if it is a reach thing by all means get it set up right...biggest selling point on the F3...

And your diagnosis of the situation might be correct! Now that you're aware of what is happening: see what you can do with your riding posture to correct it.
(Worst case scenario: you might need some different bars...)

Before you buy different bars, try adjusting yours - loosen the bolts, roll it down, and tighten the bolts.
My husband has stock bars rolled down to just before they hit anything at full lock, and it did the job for him.
I am shorter, so mine has short reach bars, rolled down.

Congratulations on your new purchase! In your owner's manual are some exercises you can do with your Spyder in a parking lot. If you can find an empty lot in the evening or a holiday, then practice the maneuvers listed in your manual. If you feel you still need shorter bars your dealer can help you on that.

That would work for me! ... or somewhere between you and me (Albany - Glens Falls?) But I've gotta get a bit more comfortable on it first.
