990 Miles covered
There have been several posts as of late talking about how many miles people are putting on the Spyder. Most of the higher mile numbers seem to come from 1330 owners.
I want to hear how many miles you have put on a single Spyder either your current model or a past model. I know many say that they have had three Spyders and a total of 110k, ok, that is not what I am looking for.
If you have or had a 990 series Byke how many miles did it have on it, or does it have on it.

I thought this was for the two cylinder 990 engined bikes? Wouldn't that be 2008 - 2013's?

I ryde a lot, always have. I've ridden over a million miles in 51 years, on 26 different motorcycles. My health forced me to try 3 wheels in 2010. I tried the Spyder RT but didn't like it, at all. I couldn't see why anybody would want one. A 3 wheeled cycle with a 105 HP engine screaming down the road, 4500 rpms at 55? I got lucky and found a 2007 BMW K1200LT. I thought I found my last cycle. 84,000 miles in 3.5 years. In March 2014 in my mail I get a flyer from BRP, they have a new RT, this one with a 1330 cc engine and 6 speeds! I had to try one. One ride is all it took. BMW gone.
It took until June 2014 before I could swing a deal. I rode out of the parking lot at Can Am of Jackson Ohio, 1 mile on the odometer. I didn't know if I'd like it, it was a huge gamble. In October '14 I hit a deer, I was able to ride home even with the right front wheel 6 inches behind the left one. Bent frame, over $14,000 damage. State Farm covered it. The dealer had it 3 months.
Long story short..
After many farkles I ryde about 2000 miles a week. My pristine RT-S "Pearl" as in white, today June 27th has 123,877 miles.
I had in the shop 2 weeks ago for a warranty rear shock air bag. (I bought 2 more years extended warranty June 8th.) The salesperson asked when I was going to buy a new one. I said why would I buy a new one when the one I ryde now is better than a new one?
There's a story about me in the October 2014 issue of Rider magazine. "Chuck's Race." That's me sitting on Pearl.
I don't know if anybody has more miles on a 2014 RT-S. SpyderAnn is close. We should compare notes some time.
Bleau, I'm right down the road in Zanesville. I'm a big guy who wears red, sometimes green suspenders and a silver helmet. I ryde state route 62 between Millersburg and Danville every day, one of my favorite rydes.
Give a PM, we can meet.

As I stated previously, I am looking to see if people took the 990's to high mileage like some do the 1330. I know Ann and at least one other got over 100k on theirs but those were 1330 models.
The 990 has been around a long time, has nobody logged 100k with it? Will the 990 not stand the test of high mileage?

2012 RT-S, 22000 miles. Bought it used last year with just a hair over 16k on it.
Encountered my first-ever issue, looks like the OEM battery is on it's last legs....wanted to drive it to work this morning and was greeted with hard start and immediate orange screen announcing "check DPS". Promptly shutdown an put it on the tender, will see where it's at this evening, but I'm pretty certain it's shot.
EDIT: Yep, the battery is going. Time to pony up $150USD!

2011 Rts with 8000 miles
I purchased my first rts last May with 8000 mls on it. In August I put 3800 mls on in 5 days.
When I traded it in May of this year it had 11900 mils. Never had a problem with the 990. Ran great.

2012 RTS SE5
I bought my new in May 2013. I have put just over 30,000 miles on it. Longest trip was from Gloucester, Virginia to Sturgis, South Dakota and back in August 2013. Was a total of 5,000 miles put on the bike during that trip. The bike has done me well so far and I plan to hold onto this one for a while. My wife and I enjoy taking monthly trips together to destinations within 3 to 4 hours from the house for 3 to 4 days at a time. Sure is a great way to spend quality time together.

2013 RT Limited - approaching 24K miles and feels stronger today than it did 5K ago. When we bought it I planned to drive it until it falls apart or I determine it is a risk to drive, at 19K we took off for a SS1000 and I will say she took good care of us.

2010 RT--36,500 before I traded in 2014 for the "other" one.
There are a few out there with over 100,000. The Rotax has a good reputation for "high" mileage.
I am most likely done trading up and we will have to see how many miles the 2011 (bought new in 2012) gets. So far, Linda has 26,000 on it.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)
MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles
IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

As I suspected from the results thus far, the 990 series Ryders don't wrack up the miles like the 1330 folks.
Of course this is very unofficial and inconclusive, but the initial thoughts that come to mind are:
1. People who had the 990's traded or sold them for the big benefits if the 1330.
2. The 990 owners are not very talkative.
3. The 990 folks just do not Ryde as much as the 1330'ers.
4. Of course most of that does not make sense because the early adopter buyers have a tendency to overuse a product, so I am not sure what we have here.
