    Default Bluetooth on 2015 RT-L

All the electronics drive me nuts, BTW....

Newbie with 2015 RT-L with CB and XM.....do I understand correctly there is no way to connect the bike audio system using BT?

If I am wrong (hopefully)....how do I do this?

Have Sena20's in our helmets. Have an SM10. Will get an IPOD to go in the trunk.

    Help!

    Default Sena Freewire

Not sure what the cord out for your entertainment is 5 pin like the GL 1800, 7 pin like the Harley, or something else.

But, Sena makes something called the Freewire. Converts the Harley and GL to Bluetooth using a device that hooks up like the SM10.

They have good customer service, contact to see what, if anything, this unit and the proper cord can do for you.

Talk to motorcycledave.com a sponsor here. He sells the bluetooth dongle that will interface with your bike audio and can tell you what you need for your situation. Just call him on the phone and talk to him. He is very accessible and accommodating.

You can have Bluetooth but you will have to give up the CB radio working. The Bluetooth install uses the CB input to the radio. If you still want to install the SM10 you have I have a robust cable that installs the SM10 in the upper right hand corner of the rear trunk.

Can you add a headset jack??

I had a 2011 RT A/C and I plugged the SM10 into the drivers headset jack and it worked with the BT helmet. They was a Spyder cable for that.

On my 2016, no headset jack, so I had to go with the same SM10 but with the BRP kit.

The Harley cable for the Sena Freewire could probably be made to work on the Spyder but a short adapter cable would be needed. The pin out for the Harley 7 pin connector is not the same as the pin out for the Spyder, but all the signals are the same, except for a PTT pin on the Harley cable that is a ground connection on the Spyder.

    Default Bluetooth

I recently added a Bluetooth device to my bike by plugging it into the back of the bike I have a 2017 RTL, which has an aux plug and USB in the rear trunk. I purchased mine on Amazon but lamonster also talks about and sells a Bluetooth device, there is a video on lamonster about how to.

I have dealt with Dave, and he is good people, but until I hooked up with Doc Riverside, I was in a position of either...or. Now I have it all and am HAPPY.

You all are talking about a big mixed bag....

Do you want BT in to the radio? Or BT out from the radio to your helmet?

Also you have CB so you have wired helmets already. Are you wanting to go from wired helmets to BT helmets?

FYI you can have BT to helmets with XM but not with CB (without a trick) but you still lose CB, PTT etc.
