I will not justify how I spend my money to anyone other than my wife. Other will think what they will. Too many snowflakes in this wold as it is looking for those who work hard to give their money away. Words may be harsh, but so is being judged by others that have no clue about me or my way of life.

I did. Actually re-read it. Seems like a rock-solid kind of guy I'd be proud to ride with.

Not being a wise guy but when any toy becomes burdensome I'll toss it and move on. I'm not at that point in my life and plan to keep my neck above water till I croak. When I purchased my Spyder I was well versed in every imaginable cost and I have been so far 99% accurate. Motorcycles, RVs and boats are money pits, not investments. If you buy a toy and look at the costs AFTER you bought it....it means you didn't do your homework.

Get over it. The Jones live next to all of us. I am just glad that the Jones are trying to keep up with me. They'd crap if they knew that I don't even own a suit.

I'm mostly with you, but I won't ignore the thread. It's like watching a train wreck. I can't take my eyes off it.

Oh Jimmy.... this is tame. Try looking at some of the MB/AMG, Porsche or Ferrari forums. I acquired an AMG about a year ago and was "invited" to join an exclusive forum for AMG owners. Now THEY are a bunch of spoiled 2 year olds!! Every brand has them. I just filter the BS and do like you said. I pay attention to some of the tips/tricks that current Spyder owners have been through. I filter out the other 95%.... Life is too short to worry about others... Have fun!!

This Post has certainly Traveled... I love all you guys
My gripe, I regret to say, was not in general as most of you assumed but after reading something by some rich guy on here that has lots of money and lots of time to waste just traveling the country side, showing off his toys, complaining about the bikes and telling everybody that's what life is all about so grab all of it you can.
I made the mistake of posting it as if it is to everybody . But .. you guys are so beautiful you took it personal and began to search your own hearts as if - hey this could be Truth, you know passing judgment, you know. sorry. But really, I think about those things too and what place do I have to judge another for his or her actions whether for good or bad. You've all shared your reasons for why you decided to buy such an expensive riding machine and that's your business. I'm with you on that. But what came into play as a deeper thought and quite by accident on my part was the notion that we could be missing the bigger picture of not only sharing our thoughts and ideas on this web site but also our lives however complicated or simple we might be. Yeah, riding these machines is a way to get as far away from everyday day-in and day-out hassels and problems at home that we can get without taking them with us. My wife being the exception because she enjoys the escape as much as I do and pushes to get back out there..lucky me. And I'm sure alot of you have a significant other that adds to the experience too. But when we come back home its the same-o same-o thing of hitting your head against the wall so to speak trying to make it all work out for the best. Our kids, our jobs, our families and our homes in what ever order your put them they are important but they can be a drag on us from time to time.
But guys, there isn't any fun in any of this if its just to build on the Spyder and all its farkles, etc., etc. The real enjoyment, for me, is seeing the country we live in at my end-of-days lifestyle as someone who has something good to share with a positive outlook for those needing positive food to eat on a menu of useless riches and wasted time. If I've said anything that goes beyond the white line down the middle of the road then think on this; it isn't where you've been or even how your getting there but what's at the end. Thanks for being here and being apart of a family.
