Default Anone have the NHR from JT'S Machine Shop?

That is the No Hitch Required with Dry Box. I don't really want to pull a trailer with my RT, and believe the NHR would provide enough extra storage for road trips.

Has anyone used one of these - if so, any opinion on quality, ride characteristics, etc?

I don't have answers to the OPs questions but this sure looks like exactly what I am looking for to haul an ice chest without having to purchase a trailer to do so.

JT makes some REALLY great stuff!
He's been bus getting his shop in order; PM him, and see what he can tell you about them.

I have spoken with JT - evidently all is ready to order, according to the website (although the dry box shows out of stock). JT says the box will come with a strap, as the bungee cords come loose, due to the bouncing of the swingarm.
I have yet to verify that anyone has purchased this item, or given any ride report.

As I recall: the brackets for the rack mount permanently, and the rack can be easily removed.

    Default NHR

Hi I do not have JT's NHR but have a cloned version of one off my GL1800. A little smaller then JTs. It works great for small cooler or dry items but it does get bounced around and like some one else said bungees do not work as they bounce
too much and cooler came off . It was on a very very bad pot holed road and I was only going about 2 mph. So use a good
rachet strap. But it gives you extra storage for a reasonable price. Bob
