RSS 2012 racks for saddlebags
Hi,
I am looking for side racks, i want to use my textile saddlebags that i had on my motorcycle but i do not want to damage the paint i have on my spyder
I went through archive posts, i found many links to racks to RS but everything is discontinued
Did any of you install any racks recently?
What i would like most is something that is easily removable so don't have to have it on all the time.
what i have is similar to those: http://cdn1.bigcommerce.com/server36...0.1280.jpg?c=2 and the fit fine under the seat but they touch the plastics so they will damage the paint while riding. ....
Any Advise?

Great color!!! I have not had any luck finding racks for soft bags, but I have an option I like for my RS-S. Nelson Rigg makes a large (40L) bag that will sit on the back of the seat and attaches to the passenger grips. It has folding closure flaps and I have found it to be waterproof, not just water resistant. Good luck, you may want to check "Web-boards" (Bill Bodah), Lamont, or Pierre Poliquin (sp?). If they don't have them, they might know where you can find them.
Just sayin'...........
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally
Just sayin'............

It might be easier to find some soft material to put on the bags so they won't scratch the paint. That is what Nelson-rigg has on theirs. They didn't leave a mark on my paint after the 2000 mile round trip ride to and from Valcourt for Homecoming.

If you're handy you might want to bend some 1/2" tubing or rod to make a frame. The other option would be to throw a towel under the saddlebags.
On my old GSX-R, I went to the hobby store and got some clear stick on shelf liner and put that on the (cleaned) plastics, then peeled them off after the trip. Not a scratch.
