    Default Engine start to die at 4000 rpm in first gear and saw reverse light blink.

    Engine, started to die at 4000 rpm and saw reverse light blink,engine caught back up and did same thing again,shift yo 2nd drove ok up through 5th. And did same thing again. Notice in the last week harder to shift into 1st after being in reverse.

    Time to have the dealer take a look. Just to be safe.

    Let us know what happens.

    I am wondering , if it would be the magneto voltage distribution ? sounds like it is under charging , and getting weak as you ride ... like a cars alternator

    Default Need more to go on....

    Hard shifting could be the oil level as mentioned above. There is a rev limiter in reverse as well as when in limp mode. Do not know what year and model we are talking about. Could be fuel or electrical..
