Default Rear Luggage Rack for 2016 RS

Thanks for the responses to my last luggage post. The issue I have is that all of the hard an soft side saddlebags take up the room for a passengers legs and also are likely to hit the tail lights which stick out on my model. I looked for a rack that I could fit behind the seat that would be attached to the rear or the back bumper. Does anyone make a rack for the 2016 model?

    Default Depends....

You can modify the turn signals and some hard bags have them built in. As for a rack, if you have a back rest you can add onto it for soft luggage or Givi for one has a hard case you can put on. Check our sponsor/vendors seems there are some solutions there. I made my own with the oem back rest/rack offered for the early models...mine is a 2012 RS

No back rest, just the standard seat.

You can drill the can am sport rack for mounting an adaptor plate for a hard trunk on it. (ie Givi etc) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Can-Am-New-O...-/181018370295

IIRC there are a few forum members here who have done that.

I just got the same one from the same seller on Amazon.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I had it in my wish list for some time, it went down to $98.20, but went back up right after I got it. The only good deal is on the Silver, I will be making it black with Plasti-Dip for now.

I figured out another solution. I'm going to mount 2 angle irons to the bolts that hold on the plate above the rear wheel so they stick out about 12" to the rear and then mount a plate to them with a spacer at the rear to level the plate. Total cost for 2 angle irons and a metal plate less than $10!
