Idler Belt Kit # 219800412
Just installed the kit and Wow what a difference, all the vibration is gone and I can start to enjoy my F3T!
Hey BRP, get your collective heads out of your collective Butts and:
1. Re-Design the Idler, it's a great price but needs to be better quality for longevity.
2. Include it on all Roadsters right from the Factory, we shouldn't have to do this after purchase!

I asked my dealer after installation (3 months ago) about how can such a tiny roller take such abuse. He said BRP has yet to see one fail. My BRP idler is still under warranty and I have no issues as of yet so its a keeper. Could Docs be better? sure but at 5x the price I'll stick with BRP till issues develop. My thoughts

Since BRP only warranties the idler for 90 days, are they going to cover the belt damage?

Just to clarify, the complete kit for the F3 is $140.00, including shipping. If you already have the BRP kit, our upgrade is $105. And, instead of a 90 day warranty (BRP's) we give 2 years on the pulley, regardless of mileage ridden.

When I was at my dealer 2 weeks ago, they were under the impression that
BRP has ceased the sales of their unit. You may want to check.......
How do I get to info on Doc's unit? Picking up a new F3 in a week. Might as well be the first extra....

My dealer told me the warranty is one year, not 90 days, my dealer installed the idler. As far as belt damage goes, if my idler fails and causes belt damage then its covered. If BRP neglects to cover the belt or any other damage I'll file a complaint with the Attorney General. I've done that before with 2 other company's who tried nefarious activities with my wallet and the AG did an excellent job. You "might" take me but I'll bite back, my moto in life. My thoughts

Yes, it was installed in December or January and she probably put 5,000 miles on it.
What did BRP said about that ?
The dealer she took it to covered the tensioner and the belt under warranty

Apparently it can't

Must be more than 90 days as she had hers installed around the beginning of the year and it was covered under warranty

BRP idler way undersized, bound to fail sooner than later. Go with Docs idler.
2015 F3 SE6 Black and Chrome, Smoothspyder Backrest and more to come.

I know where the confusion on warranty comes from. BRP parts have a 90 day warranty. BUT, its a factory part for your F3 and installed per a service bulletin. Its then covered under your factory warranty. Same for the belt, its not normally covered for wear but if a covered part damages it, they do.
None of this applies for folks that install one on an RT. Just the 90 day parts warranty.
There are LOTS of these out there and very few failures. Louise has over 10k miles on hers and its fine for now. Lamont and Joan have many thousands on theirs as does Flamingo Babe. You can bet if this turns into a replacement game for BRP they will revise the part. Don't think its time to panic here.
