Default 622 trailer hub outer race question

I'm in middle of first service on my 622 trailer. I see that the outer race is pressed into the hub. My question is can, and should you, reuse the existing race if I'm replacing the bearings? If they should be replaced, where would a good place to take them be? I was thinking a trailer specially shop? Or is it something that any good mechanic shop should be able to do?

Thanks in advance for the responses.

You should not reuse the race. Those cone bearing have to be used with the cones in the kit.

They are easy to get out with a punch and hammer

How difficult are new races to install?

I found the races come out easy when I did mine. IMO .The one side I had to angle the punch to get the cone to start to come out it and had to put on a harder flat surface. To install the same. If you have bearing race driver makes it even easier. But you can use a punch or socket to put back.

Don't forget to pack the bearings before you install the seals too.

Default Has anyone ever crossed referenced new hubs

Not that I need new hubs, but I see that from Can AM the replacement hub and bearings are around $80. Was curious if anyone has ever cross referenced to a more readily available replacement, say from etrailer.com?

No as they are different as you will see when removed. If I remember correctly it was deeper on one side than the other versus aftermarket.

Unless you damage the hub there is no real need to replace.

You can get a bearing kit kit from e trailer for less than 20 bucks I believe

Yes, I actually ordered them a couple weeks back. I think you gave me the proper bearing number to order. They arrived last week and I began the disassembly today.

Good Luck Keep an eye at the rear of the axle I found mine pretty rusty around the seal area.
