Default Great review with added link

Got my interest finless Bob. Guess I should have one just in case-

here is a link for others to order as well from LaMonster Garage.http://www.lamonstergarage.com/1000a-battery-jump-pack/

Even a video to watch that Lamont spells out all the features in under 6 minutes!
Also shows how to hook it up on the newer RT's

    below

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsxt...ature=youtu.be

My question would be to show how to get to the battery on a 2010 RT or each of the models for that matter. Mine is somewhere under the seat.

Maybe a video could be done where there is each model to show the battery location for us newbies

Default Lamonster Gear Power Pack to Canada

I thoroughly enjoyed YOUR review and reviews for the GEAR item on YouTube.
I went to order one, but the $50.00 USD shipping charge to Canada ended that. Just so you know ... $50 USD is equal to $69 in our dollars.
It is so unfortunate that US vendors charge outrageous amounts for shipping.

Thanks for the video, however I do have a couple of practical questions.

1.) Just curious, how long will this unit hold a full charge if not used immediately after charging? (few days, a week or two, a month, etc.)

2.) Also, if keeping on board on my F3S in the front compartment under the hood, how stealth is it to remain in a sealed compartment, AND if the unit is sitting out in the sun, will that adversely affect the unit?

Thank you in advance for your response.

    Have an amazing weekend everyone!!!

We have a fixed shipping rate for out of country and we are the only company I know that will adjust the shipping to benefit the customer without asking. If it cost us $30.00 to ship that's what we charge you. You would be credited the $20.00. We don't make money on shipping, it cost us money to ship. There is no such thing as free shipping, somebody has to pay for it.

I think they told me it will hold a full charge of 6 months. You should get up to 30 jumps out of one charge.
As far as your second question. Anything electronic should be kept out of the heat when possible. I keep mine in the saddle bags with no ill effect. I would think the trunk would be fine too.

Thank you for your comments. I understand that you need to charge for shipping. I have no issue with that. As a former small business owner who shipped around the world, I fully understand.

However, your website, unlike many others, does not offer options for shipping. The USPS rate for the battery item is $24.95. Your company's philosophy of providing a $20 credit on the credit card purchase is not well explained on your website.

Knowing that you do provide a credit card refund I am now more inclined to purchase this ... and other ... items from your website.

Thank You for the credit card refund clarification!

We just refunded a customer $50.00 because he placed two orders and one was for a $79.00 product. He placed them at different times but we were able to get both orders in one box. He never asked for a refund, we just gave it to him. I'm sure many of our customers can back up the fact that we do that. What really is a problem is your duty and customs fees. There's nothing we can do about that.

Since no one else has addressed this if you do a search on You Tube you will find a finless bob video on replacing the battery on a 2010-2013 RT. Also if you raise your seat you will see on the right side a post sticking up. That is your negative post. On the left side straight over from the negative post you will see another post and that is your positive connection. Jump from those to posts. Just remember right = negative left = positive.
One last caveat. DO NOT try to loosen or otherwise fool with the negative post. It will just spin on you. I have seen posts here where people made a special wrench to hold the hidden nut,but I could never make that work. I'm betting most other people can't either, so you have to take everything apart to tighten it back up. LEAVE IT ALONE. Don't ask how I know this
Enjoy your Spyder and the adventure riding it and learning to maintain it is.

BTW for any other newbie the above information only applies to 2010-2013 RT.

    Wink Shipping Refund

That is EXCELLENT! I have no reason to doubt you ... way too many people "out there" praise you and your items.

PLEASE NOTE: There are no duties payable as long as the items are manufactured in Canada, USA or Mexico. That is one of the "up" sides of NAFTA.
Customs fees are only payable IF the items are shipped by a courier such as UPS, FedEx, Loomis, DHL, etc.

That is why I always, always, always ask the vendor to ship by USPS. Yes, it takes longer. But only Canada Customs looks at the item and if the value is low enough, they don't charge any GST (Federal Sales Tax for you folks in the USA) and let the package go straight to the mailman. Summit Racing in Ohio is a classic example for me. They normally use UPS. But if I call and ask for them to use USPS and tell them why, they have always responded accordingly.

With that in mind, you may wish to show on your website HOW you are planning on shipping. If it's by courier (as mentioned above) the Customs clearance fees charged by those same companies often is around $40 to $50. GRRRRRRRR!

    Thanks again!

Yep, I will certainly back up the fact that you do that Lamont, as you have done it for me, along with using every possible option to ensure shipping costs are kept to a minimum. I have absolutely NO issues with your shipping practises and charges to ship to Aus. No need to change it.

Bob, again another very nice demonstration and review, thank you.

As I was watching this I thought that i have watched Bob's videos and have never seen his face. It reminded me of Wilson, the never seen neighbor on Home Improvement TV show. At that time your voice started sounding like that of the actor on the show, scary, eh?

Then we got toward the end of the video and your face popped on the screen, I was actually shocked. You ruined all of the suspense.

Oh well, no harm no foul, just a little fun for your efforts.

It uses lithium batteries so storage is along time! I would say to check it's charge every 4-6 months.

Lithium batteries do not like a lot of heat. Direct sun on the unit for several hours would be a no no.
What happens is they lose capacity and peak discharge capability (the internal resistance of the battery cells goes up).

    Default Received

I received mine in the mail yesterday. All charged up and on the Spyder. Best case scenario is I never need it for my own. Have been with a few other Harley riders that I ride with that we have had to push start. Insurance for me on solo rides and will save my back and legs on rides when others need a jump and I have one ready to go.

    Default Thanks for the video

Nice to see someone taking a real world look at these devices. Based on your description it seems that the lower capacity Anti Gravity unit s/b the one in your Spyder and the Lamonster pack should go into one of your cages for better insurance on the road.

I'll be ordering one of these real soon and ditching the jumper cables.
