I removed the fuel tank & pump, according to the service manual if you connect pins B & C directly to a well known 12V battery it should work, ours doesn't, after a quick dive in eBay, we bought a used fuel pump for 55 bucks, sure beats the hell out of the 500 for a new one... quick question, will a working used one be enough, or am I being cheap and I should bite the trigger and get the new one?

Thanks for all your help, have a great weekend, and ride safe!

    It sure did!

Happy to report she's running now, I hope to reinstall everything I took off in the process by tomorrow, and maybe I'll even take her for a test ride, thanks for all your valuable help.

I'll post an update as soon as I get back of the test drive, that way I can ask you guys if I have any doubts left., BTW this time I'll add some pics.

    Have a great day!

We will be home Friday. Before you ride it much, let me check the alignment. If it's ok, it's free. If not, I'll fix it. Number below. Joe

Hey cptjam, thanks for the offer, I'll take it, that is if I can manage to get everything done by Friday, with this weather working in the garage isn't very nice, yesterday even with my newly installed garage insulated door, we were at 121!, that's the main reason why it's been taking us this long to get any kind of progress, luckily by now the kids are out of school and we can work at nights.

Again thank you very much to everyone involved in helping us out, we couldn't have done it with out this site or all of you guys.

    Have a great day!

I had to take down the pallet wall I had in the garage/man cave, I just realized that:

1 It makes the man cave hotter, something you don't appreciate when doing 117f
2 Stupid "liquid nail" won't stick to the walls at this temperatures, so... missed a day taking down all the pallet tables that were still sticking to the wall, I finished that project on May 2nd, and it didn't last for a 3 months.... if anyone here wants some repurposed pallet boards, just let me know...

On the bike, she's running ok, and I guess she does need an alignment, cause I took her for a ride around the block and it does feel scary at times, maybe it's me since it's my first time in a spider? or is the front a bit shaky in these type of bike?, I'm just waiting for some couple of plastic and bolts to arrive on the mail and she should be ready to go for her first ride...

    Default Not you

It will seem like a new bike after an alignment! Just give me a call when you are ready. We are home for a couple of weeks.

Make sure the front tire pressure is not too high. That will make it very twitchy. Max 19 psi for a GS like yours. Also it takes some miles to get used to how it acts.

    Looking good!!!!

    Default Bike running!

    Hi everyone.

Just wanted to post a video of the bike running, since after all it was all of us who made her run again.... BTW, sorry to not post any updates, but it's been crazy hot in Las Vegas, and not really nice to ride or work on the bike with this kind of weather.

Again thank you all very much, I hope you all the best.
