    Default Axle sliding block.

Had my axle sliding block break today while riding. Broke the one on the drive belt side. Anyone else experience this.

Starting to really hate this thing. Motor blew up at 3500 miles now this at 4900 miles. Not to mention I had to replace the wiring harness this winter due to mouse damage. I think I might sell it after it is fixed. I've had it since August 12th of last year. Baught it as a new leftover 2015. Been in the shop now twice for mechanical failure and once for the harness. I've installed the blue ridge windshield, dual mode backrest, and saddlebags. I picked up a Shark Audio 1400watt sound system for it too. So lets say I really love it at some point.

Don't know the first thing about the F3 but that doesn't look good.

    Good luck with it, and

    keep us posted

I'm guessing that the axle nut came loose or was left loose after the motor install. I doubt they had to loosen it when they put the harness it.

Not sounding like a Can-Am sales rep but that can happen to any machine. I had a brake caliper fall (Suzuki Intruder) off and dangle by the hydraulic line while I was riding. Did you notice a lose belt or the throttle felt different as you rode. Sometimes machines will tell you there is a problem if you listen to its language. You wanting to sell it is spot on with my opinion, I'll only deal with horsesh*t only so far, so I understand. My thoughts.

Post Axle sliding block. Me too

Owning a F3-S MY2015 (about 10.000 km now). Had exactly the same issue yesterday too. I had my last maintenance done 4 weeks ago and the dealer says the Axle nut was tightened to the right specs. (225 Nm +/- 15 Nm).
Same question I have. Is this just a part manufacturing error, weakness in the part or design concept failure? Do the sliding blocks take part of holding the axle on it's place during driving and not only the axle by the axle hex nut itself ? With other words, are the sliding blocks only there for adjustment and setting the right belt tension or is there also additional tension being put on them caused by engine torque (during driving)?
