I've been thinking of getting one. My question is, Central Park can be busy, is there some regulation about flying with other people in the area? I'm thinking of flying near a beach area where there is a big open field, and others walk thru.

I believe it does. this is a slick model, been looking at getting this one with a extra battery pack.

fort totten & eisenhower park & of course in the living room.

Fly while you can....
They are getting more and more restrictive on the flying areas. To many doing crazy stuff with them. They are a blast and you can do so much with them you should check out SpyderTV or you tube for some great spyder footage from Pierre Poliquin...

be careful around fort totten. with the bridge there your not allowed to take pictures of it since 9/11. they get very upset. at OBI or oak beach inn, that is a good place. also the upper lot at cap tree

don't worry john, i'm not looking to fly over any bridges, tunnels or airports but i may fly over your house to watch your dogs
or peep in on a neighbor. my 45 year old friend is dating a 28 year old so he knows i will be flying with camera on near his
window.

Mavic
Try tripod mode. Gives amazing low speed control. I swear you could fly it through an inner tube. Range in an open area is amazing. Made it 3 miles in rural KY. Pretty fast too when compared to a Phantom. Have fun and don't crash.

Ok, went to b & h in manhattan to pick up my drone & ipad, well i found the salesman that helped me when i first looked at it and
showed him the estimate he wrote up. well they would not honor it & after being there for about 30 min. i told the salesman and
the mgr. for the drone area thank you for lying to me and wasting my time, said i would order it online for the price quoted, of course
they don't care. for those who don't know b & h they do over a half billion in sales for electronics and cameras.
well my mavic drone is coming in today fedex, i do thank b & h for showing the drone to me & letting me try it and answering all of
my questions on how to operate it.
What i wanted to do was order local from a store who could help me with it, they did everything but lost the sale. the one thing i
won't tolerate is lying. well anyway i will be having fun with it starting today and will be flying at captree & obi this sunday.

New Drone
Since you are a new pilot I would recomend you fly in a WIDE OPEN AREA, not in your living room. You will crash, so get outside have fun enjoy!
Be sure you get registered with the FAA

went up 350' yesterday and the camera works great, only flying while it is in sight for now. keeping away from
trees and the street.
