    Cool Intermittant fuel cap issue!!

Hi all from Wisc.! Here's my issue. Don't know if any of you have experienced this problem but at times when I have to fuel up and attempt to remove the fuel cap, it will not "grip" the ratcheting mech. and I have to squeeze the top part of the cap to engage it enough to grab and loosen the threaded section of the cap. Has anyone replaced the factory fuel cap with an aftermarket cap?? THANKS IN ADVANCE! Mike M.

This issue popped up almost as soon as the 2014s started hitting the gas stations...
Your dealer should be able to get you a new cap.

    Default Gas cap

If you do some searches, folks have posted part numbers of alternative gas caps. Blueknight posted the part number and link for one of the newer style caps that you leave on and has a spring loaded flap to fill through. I bought one off eBay and have been running it on my 2015 RT for a year now. Easiest way to not have it click is to not take it off.

There is nothing special about the gas caps. If you take it to your local auto parts store you can get a replacement for a couple of bux. Or, you could do what Bob suggested if your dealer is handy.

    Default Agree...

There are several posts on aftermarket caps...I think Stant is one of them. BLUEKNIGHT911 has the info for a smaller one used with the fuel door...

questions--- what size is the gas cap you used...or what car did you tell them you needed it for?
