    Default windshield

A newbie here. Just got a 2016 F3T that has a Tall Boy windshield on it. I would like to get an F4 23" . Do I need to replace any mounting hardware to do this?

    Thanks for any info.

So I can take off the adjustable hardware and bolt up an F4 to the stock hardware?

Not exactly. Not sure what hardware you have on you r bike. The F4 has all the necessary hardware for mounting on a naked F3. Just call F4. Check the ad on our home page. Really easy install. They will help you with the proper sizing.
Good luck and let us know your progress.

Default Just put the F4 21inch shield on the wifes 16 F3T

Just put the F4 21inch shield on the wifes 16 F3T. The shield used the OEM screws and brackets that were on the bike for the shorty "lipped" windscreen. The shield came with 4 white plastic bushings to help mount the shield. I reused the OEM screws and the 4 black rubber washers that were original along with the wht plastic bushings. Helps to have your partner hold the screen while fumbling with the little bolts.

Have a clean floor as the washers can run away from you. Also be careful to start the bolts straight and by hand as they can cross-thread easily in the aluminum blackets.

    Good Luck and Good Rydin!!

Steamer, you need to be a bit careful providing a newbie with advice like this Dave has stated that he has an F3-T, so there is NO adjustable mounting hardware supplied by F4. You simply remove the stock screen from the stock brackets and insert the F4 in its place.

Just to clarify the F4 will not mount to the Tall Boy brackets.
You need the original mounting brackets that were used for the original windshield.

What didn't you like about the tall boy shield and have you sold it? I'm probably getting an F3T next week and am worried about the short stock shield. Btw, trading in my F3S which I love but like so many...getting a great deal on a 16 T.

The windshield is sold. My problem with it was it was too short for me. I am 6'2" and sit tall on the bike. If I was shorter then no problem.

I have a Tallboy and mounting brackets I'm not using. I'm 5'-11" and it was to short for me. If you're interested let me know. Half price.

Interested. Since I don't even have my byke yet, I'm going to see how the stock shield does, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to want something else. The short windshields present a safety issue, in my book. You're wide open to flying objects. Plus, wind buffering is not my favorite thing. A lot of people suggest the F4 shield, but they are so expensive. I'm 5'-5", so it might work for me. What's your price?

I actually just replaced my stock windscreen on my F3T with one that I purchased on ebay for $145 shipped. Not sure of the brand, but it measures 8" taller and 3" wider than the stock shield. The Stock shield worked really great, and I liked it. But I ride all year and wanted something to take the wind away for those 30-40 degree days. Total height of the new shield is 22". I like it, but will be going back to stock as soon as things warm up again around April. BTW, I am 6'-2" and look just above the top of the shield.

I just did the same thing, traded the 2015 F3S for the 2017 F3T. So far the stock windshield works great for me but I am only 5 foot 4 1/2 inches tall. Was glad I did not have to turn around and drop another 500.00 or more for another windshield on a brand new bike. Really loving the new F3T but 2 negatives that I have noticed is that it seems to produce more heat then the F3S and it is not as smooth at top end due to the smaller sprocket.

I also am looking for a taller windshield than the Tall Boy that I had put on at purchase. F4 said their shields only bolt to the STOCK shorty brackets, so I must try to get my old brackets back from the dealer. So I'm dead in the water for now. Are there any other companies that make shields that might fit?

Your F3T has the same size sprocket that your F3S had.

. If it comes with the brackets, I'll take it. Do you have a clue how much shipping would cost? Let me try to PM you.

    Cheapest = $22 about 6 days.
Priority = $30 two to three days.
I also sent her my cell #. Would make this easier...
