Subscribing to a thread

It appears that there is NOT an option to:
Automatically subscribe to a thread when you make a post....WITHOUT an email notification.
Is that true ?
If so, most unfortunate.

I just use the Thread tools at the top of the first post of a new topic You get the option of Subscribe to this thread I just select itTo view any of the threads you subscribe to just select settings at the top of the website you get the option of viewing all subscribed threads in the main screen
