I got the new Magic Mirror Magnest Wahooooooooo!!!
Received them Saturday and installed them Sunday. Took about 20 minutes to install and are they GREAT. Next to the sway bar I think these are the best investment you can spend on your Spyder. Very easy to install and had the wife check one side, with the new magnets, against the old and no comparison. Very good job inventing these. Must have for all Spyders.

I got a question for those that have in stalled these. What keeps the mirror from rotating either up or down when these are mounted? Are there alignment pins to keep the mirrors from rotating?

The screw heads act as pins as they go into the drilled holes in the plates that are mounted to the mirrors.

Do either of you guys have tracking numbers for your packages???
Russ,
If you could send us the tracking numbers: we could have fun watching them cross the Country!
Russ told me there were no tracking numbers. To get #'s it cost an additional $30 from Australia.
One member here said he was tracking his and I asked how. He said he had signed up for usps tracking to his house and was therefore tracking it that way. Any package coming to his house was tracked for him. I don't know just how that works. Something you sign up for.

Are the mirrors that big of a problem. I seem to have no trouble with my '14 RTS....

Once fitted the magnets are so strong it takes some gentle persuasion to make them move
They seem to lock in place - you get about 2" away and the magnets pull them in
A reviewer reported a bird strike and the mirror stayed in place
Best investment for securing the RT mirrors you will find

The main issue is when you have to remove and reinstall them which you need to do to remove lower panels of the bodywork for servicing or cleaning the hidden parts of the frame etc
BRP uses plastic inserts and pins - The top plastic tag can break off and the bottom 2 pins become loose allowing the mirrors to become insecure
See - http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/s...=Broken+mirror
Magic Mirrors overcome all these issues and are easy to fit if you follow Russ's Video

The screw heads are not recessed into the magnet for a reason. The screw heads fit inside the holes on the steal plates on the mirror. When the steal plates mate with the magnets the screw heads keep the mirror from moving up, down or side to side. Looks like a really good design.

I just looked at all the options available in my USPS account and don't find any such available service. All the tracking option require a # to be input.
I just looked at the post with the tracking info, http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/s...=1#post1241386. It was posted on April 1. Makes you wonder if there's a connection there!

Almost every job on a Spyder RT begins with the instruction, "Remove the mirrors!" Removing them isn't a huge problem, or even a big problem, just an irritating problem! That is until one of the mounts breaks!
