Seats, are they better than they were 7 yrs ago?
We just traded our 2010 RTS for a 2016 RTS. The stock seat on the 2010 was less than comfy. We won a Mustang seat last year at Spyderfest and it helped a lot. Now that we have the brand new 2016, can we expect the stock seat to be better than the 2010 was?

I doubt there have been any changes to the seats,at least there have been no write ups about such a thing. Since you already bought the 2016 you will soon know if you don't already. I solved my seat problem by buying a gel pad from motorcycledave.com and installing that. It changed a 2 hour seat into an all day seat.

They did re-contour them a little bit in 2014...
I feel as if it's a bit more comfortable, but you should listen to what your ass is saying; not mine!

Congrats !

Well....
It's a comfort thing and you will have to put some serious miles on it to tell if it works for you. Lots of seat companies and add ons to change the seat performance but it is still individual....

RE: Seats
My most recent is a 2014. I vote no on OEM seats. They are to mushy for me and I am ready to get off at 30 minutes to an hour. I have replaced five out of five.
Two Corbins. One each on the 2008 and the 2010.
Three BRP Comfort. One each on the 2009, 2011, and 2014.
I don't know about the seats beyond 2014, but am guessing any aftermarket seat would be better.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)
MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles
IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

Seats
My wife and I didn't like the stock seats on our F-3, (she actually HATED the stock passenger seat) So after looking at the prices of the aftermarket seats I went to a custom saddlemaker, Bill Mayer Saddles and had custom seats fitted to us and the standard CanAm "adjustable" backrest repadded and recovered to match as well as having a custom lumbar support built to fill the gap below the passenger seatback. Total price was about $1400.00 and was money well spent. All the seats are far more comfortable now and according to Rocky the owner, will just get better as they break in over the next thousand miles or so. They do walk-in as well as internet orders . They need photos of how you sit on the bike, weight and a couple of other things. The info is on their website.

Wan't sure on fitment, and the dealership I got it from really liked all the farkles that were on the 2010, and it helped my trade in value by $1000 to leave the extras on....so...I let it go. Not a big deal

i have a synthetic sheepskin left over from my knee replacement.
it helps some but after a hundred miles or so its time for us to stop and stretch
anyway. wife says her part is ok. we both have back probs though.--irv
where did you get the new one from ? you will really like it.

I must admit that this is the first bike seat that I haven't wanted to change after the first week of riding. I have not been able to ride even 1 day this year yet as I broke my wrist then had knee replacement 10 days ago. It will be a bit before I can ride again and hopefully I can get several 300 + mile rides in. So far I am really happy with the seat and the rider position.

I didn't truly start enjoying my RSS until I put an Ultimate Seat on it. I had only ridden ATVs, nothing on highway. The RSS seat was like a pony express saddle or something. I plan on keeping my ride for a long time but if I ever do trade etc the stock seat will be the first thing to go.

seats
The stock seat is no better, painful after 30 to 60 minutes. Several options from add on pads to Ultimate or aftermarket seat but don't settle for the stock seat on a nice ride.
