BEST WAY TO REMOVE WHEEL WEIGHTS?
I received my front wheel balancers from Lamonster Garage yesterday and am anxious to put them on. But I have to remove the weights from the rims first. What is the best way to do that without scratching the rims? A particular solvent maybe? Hammer and chisel?

REMOVAL
Well you can start by spraying them with WD-40 and let them sit overnight ...... then if you have a piece of hard wood make a chisel and use that to scrape them off ..... If you lay the wheel down and pry the weights up even a little and spray the wd-40 in the space it will work lots better .............. jmho .... Mike

I use a citrus spray for removing gum and glue. It really works well on double sided tape that most wheel weights have.

Like Bluenight911 said WD40 works well, and if you do not want to make a wood scraper you can purchase a plastic one at most places that sell paint.

Plain old mineral spirits will remove the adhesive. Start with the plastic scraper.

hair dryer and a plastic scraper works too.. depending how old the adhesive is, a had dryer may not work in all cases.

Wheel Balancers
Yesterday I removed the wheel weights by using solvent as others suggested. Installed the Centramatic wheel Balancers on the front wheels and took the Spyder for a spin. I didn't get to ride long as it started raining but I could immediately tell the difference. Very smooth ride. I highly recommend them!
