    Default No Hitch Required

I finally got caught up with other pressing things and started to fabricate the prototype for the NH-Carrier. Here is a sneak peek at the prototype.

Looks good, but isn't that 2x4 gonna wear pretty quick?

    Default Nice...!!

Shapping up nicely. Should be a hit. You could add a brake light sending unit and a battery operated led light for more lighting and protection... Have one on my helmet with turnsignal and night strobe.

Default Like the concept and Second the Lighting Suggestion..

Looks nice just wondering about any visibility requirements for the license plate. Looks like a good solution for those wanting a little more storage but not wanting to purchase/keep up with a trailer.

No hitch, really? Do you know when you anticipate having it out of production? Any idea on the cost yet, and the difficulty to install and remove?

There is a trip I am taking in September...

Thanks, Cocoa is missed. She passed away the day we were returning from the Alaska trip. She had a happy very well cared for life so I'm good with the time she could spend with us.

Well I finally got something done! I'm impressed with how sturdy it is.

I just have to blast and powder coat the prototype and I'm almost ready to go to the bayou!

Al, yes this does not require a $500 hitch. Initial installation requires you to remove the axle to install the swing arm adapters. After that you can take it off and on with 4 bolts and if you didn't look close when off you can't tell anything is there. When I return from Spyders on the Bayou I'll get the parts laser cut out to fabricate these and get started on producing them. So I'm hoping to have them in a month or so. It was quite fun and time consuming getting this baby right.

Gozfst, look no 4bee2! And what a pile of pre-bent parts that aren't just quite right...

    Default Nice!

I will most likely be interested in this product. I plan on purchasing an F3 Limited in the next 8 to 12 months but was concerned about lack of storage on long trips when riding 2 up. I was also not interested in towing a trailer. This would fix that problem.

This product will not fit the F3 swing arm, it's a totally different design. This fits GS, RS, ST and RT.

I believe the 2016 F3T & F3 Limited have the RT swing arm? Someone on here will correct me if I am wrong. That is why these 2 new F3 models can be fitted with the BRP hitch.

    JT,

Lamont stated that the new F3T and Limited comes with a swing arm like the RT so this may work for 900Dave since he stated that the F3 Limited is what he planned on getting.

Yea, if the 2016 F3 has the same swing arm as the RT it should work then. Good to know.

Not yet, I still need to get some more cost info. I do know what it will look like now.

After putting it on and off a few times, I have a few minor tweaks to do to make it even better so I'll make a third prototype starting tomorrow. This one will be on the Spyder at Spyders at the Bayou for anyone that wants to look at it. In the mean time today I must get my Stebel mounted. Dang I could have wiped the dry box off before taking a photo...

I really don't want to go on record saying it will carry x amount of weight. It is rather sturdy and you should use good judgment when loading it. I would not suggest filling it with your lead collection I usually pack our clothes in the dry box so I can just unhook the bungees and take the whole box inside the hotel.
