Did some shopping today
So my wife was intrigued by a 2014 Cognac RT-S, with 4700 miles on it. Looks like new, at the dealership. All stock. Stealership was asking $14900 for it and said there was no wiggle room on the price.....YIKES, was my first reaction......
What say you? We paid about $15k for our 2010 RT with 13K miles on it 2 yrs ago. I was hoping that when we said thios would be our 2nd Spyder from there, they might deal a bit.....

shop away !
that probably is a close value , see if they can throw a 90 warranty in .... sure beats the new price when it was 2014 { wasn`t it like 21,000 or so ? }

It's less than half the price of my 2014 Limited, when I brought that bike home...

Price sounds decent but I would say that would be the out the door price. You would think that being your second bike from them would garner a little good will. Dont be afraid to walk out the door. They'll probably call you back before the days out.

Crap, I just re-read my original post....I gotta correct myself to say it was the ST-S that we looked at. Yeah, had it been an RT, I would have gotten pretty serious in dealing for that price. This was pretty bare though, no grip warmers or anything.

The deal is no super deal. The mileage (4,700) is nice and low. This one is not even broke in good. If the dealer is not "dealing" maybe you can get some free accessories (a bumpskid, etc.).
I changed my reply since I see this is an ST-S. I am thinking more like $12K. It needs an oil change service if not already done. Make sure the dealer does that for free. Remember, the 998 twin is now discontinued as well as the ST models. Not a good deal at dealer asking price.

That's a great price for a 2014 RT around my area. Most of them here are around $18k. My local dealer has a 2015RT-S special edition for $24k. Wish I could find a 1330 for that price, I wouldn't bat an eye to bring it home.

I agree with Bam Bam, just walk away, if they aren't dealing, they will let you, if they want the sale they will start to reconsider the pricing. As much as I want something, there is never not another option.

From what I've read here the past couple of years the ST is not a great two-up bike. For two-up riding the RT is much better. I'd just forget about it totally.

I think you missed his update. It's an ST-S, not RT-S.

Is this a replacement or an additional Spyder? If you're looking for a 2nd Spyder, I'd say keep looking.

You can buy a new leftover ST-s here in the Old Pueblo for less than that! That is not a good deal.

I paid less than that for a new leftover F3 SE6.

I'd hold off for new engine (1330) and newer technology. This will also have better resale value down the road. Might cost a little more but worth it.
