Five photo one paragraph ride report
Beautiful day just right for riding. Let's head up NorCal Hwy 88 to Carson pass and see how much snow is up there. Plenty, plenty, plenty. Big props to the new owner of the Sierra House Restaurant in Pine Grove, who fed us a great lunch even though he wasn't officially open for business

Your photos
I noticed in your last photo you have a dark tinted windshield And what looks like a hole in the lower part of it. Like there should be a vent in it. I am right and if the hole is for a vent how come there isn't one there? Waiting to put one in my 2012rt.

The shield is a CalSci tinted shorty. The vent is there to assist with airflow and reduce buffeting. Works as advertised. I've heard some riders fear that the rain might come through the vent-- it doesn't.

At least the road was dry. Looked like some ice where you pulled off. Great pictures.

I do like the heated handgrips though. No heated seats yet.

No heated seats either. We have sheepskin pads on the seats - nearly as good as a seat heater I think.

This is the first bike we've owned with heated grips - Deb loves 'em
Love those heated grips. With those and rain gear just about anytime is the time to ride. Last year on our trip to Big Sur we had one very wet day. I wrang my gloves out with water running from them like under a faucet and the heated grips dried them 3 different times. What a ball that trip was.
