Aftermarket Trailer Problems
I have a Lumina XL trailer that worked perfectly well with my 2012 RT.
Now with my new 2014 RT, I have blown 2 Can Am trailer wiring harnesses in a year. Dealer says it's because of after marker trailer.
Does anyone else have this problem? I see the harness from Big Bike Parts. Is that one supposed to correct this issue? I know others are pulling after market trailers without an issue.

Do you have the BRP harness for the 14 RT? If the trailer was wired for the BRP hitch on your 12 you likely need to add the grounding harness to the trailer connection. This was a known issue, I blew two harnesses with my 14 RT on my 10 RT-622 trailer. BRP finally rewired the trailer for me.

I run 5 wire. Don't mess with converters. Use an isolstion unit and run 5 wire. Never understood why BRP with a 5 wire system converts to 4 wire. Converters will fail!
