Wouldn't that thing have been generating a magnetic field while it was spinning?
I would think that such a field would play Hell with a video camera.

No answer to that here. Not my line of expertise. When it comes to CT scans, I get to play, and then I pay. Beyond that?????

You're thinking of an MRI, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, machine. CT scanners are X-ray machines. I don't think a magnetic field would cause any real problem with a video camera since it depends on light to activate the image sensor. A really strong field close to the camera could mess up its electronics maybe.

Just to add a diversion to this topic.
A guy takes his apparently dead dog into the veterinarian, and asks if the vet can do anything. And is the dog really dead, or just comatose? So the vet does an exam and tells the owner, "Yep, he's gone."
"Are you sure? Isn't there something more you can do?"
"Well, there is one more test I can do." So he goes backside and brings out this mean looking and sounding cat. He takes the cat and holds him above the dog's body, slowly moving him around. No reaction at all from the dog.
He turns to owner, "No question about it. The dog is dead."
A few minutes later he comes out and hands the owner a bill. "Five hundred fifty dollars! How can that be? That's robbery! No way can you charge me this much. You didn't do much of anything at all! Why so damn much?"
"Sorry you feel that way. The charge is $50 for my exam and $500 for the cat scan!"

I heard another version of this one, in which a Labrador Rtriever is also brought out to sniff the recently deceased...
In it: there is also a charge for the "Lab Report"!
