Cool Russell Culley's Magic Mirrors are INCREDIBLE!!!!!

Wow! Received the Magic Mirror mounts March 29th & immediately had to put them on. Order # 941
Instructions were perfect as was Russell's video. It was a breeze to install, super easy but what an incredible difference!

One day while driving back home from a Can Am dealer after warranty work, my RT side mirror fell off dangling by the harness as I was doing 55mph. Luckily I was able to pull over & rescue it from falling off. Found out that the BRP tech boogered up & broke the top mount obviously when he tried to put the mirror back on.
Up until then I never took the mirrors off before as the bike only had 900 miles on her. I have taken the mirrors off myself since numerous times and have boogered up a few top mounts myself trying to get them on correctly & even then the mirrors always felt loose & made me nervous.
Not any more now that I installed the Magic mounts.

BRP should be envious as these mounts are well planned masterpieces to say the least!
Every Spyder RT owner should have these, they are definitely worth the small investment. They are now by far my favorite addition/improvement to my RTL!

Russell my friend, you hit it out of the park on this invention for us! Thank you brother, no more worries or frustration (or rather Anger) when dealing w/my mirrors. Now they go on & off so easily but yet are a perfect solid very strong fit w/absolutely NO vibration at all....I can actually see in my mirrors w/out the shaking like the previous inferior mounting system of BRP.

I use to dred taking the Tupperware panels off mainly because of how hard the mirrors were to take off & put back on w/the possibility of damaging the plastic mounts. Not any more Baby, These magic mirror mounts are Fantastic!!!

Default I just got them today!

We just got back after our ride to a MN Spyderlovers get together.....and they were in our mailbox in a soft packet. In the packet, there is a box with all of the parts. It's "neat" to see the return address of Tasmania!! Thanks Russell!

Mine came today to Parma, Idaho. Here's a short video I made showing how strong they are. The magnet is sliding on a piece of copper wire and it jumps to the edge of the steel table from about 2 1/2" away. I had the rest of them stacked on the table with the plastic separator ring on top of the stack. As I was returning this magnet to the stack it jumped out of my hand from about 3 or 4" away onto the top of the stack! This babies are powerful!

EDIT: My order # was 964, Feb 10. Ship notice was Mar 20 so that means 13 calendar days for delivery.

Glad they've arrived & you can get to using them, but just a word of warning...

You really DO NOT want to make these things jump like that or clack into each other or onto a bench from a distance if at all possible!!

Yes, they are strong, & it might be fun playing with them like that, but they are Rare Earth Magnets & they are relatively brittle - way more so than a similar sized lump of steel or iron!! You are VERY LUCKY that your magnet didn't break thru doing that little test!! And I bet you'd be bloody annoyed with yourself if you had to wait another 10-15 days for a replacement (that's if he's got one on hand that's not commited to another buyers order that he can get straight into the mail!?!)

pot magnets were trialled but proved unsuitable for this application
the magnet is brittle but not fragile it is a holding magnet and used as such it is extremely effective
as it uses a Phillips head screw it may prove difficult to remove if lock tite is used
seperate magnets then fit straight away
the white spacers between the magnets are to be discarded....they play no part in the fitment
the top Tupperware washer MUST be removed.....the mirror will not close otherwise
    be different,read the instructions

    thanks. Russ

    Default Install complete

Russ, I must say you couldn't have made the install any easier. If anyone is like me, I hate reading instructions so I opted for watching Russ's install video on my tablet. Total time about 20-25 minutes.

I did the same before the Magic Mirrors arrived (Several times)
When they arrived, I set up my iPad on the workbench and played Merlots (Russ) tutorial video on youtube, I could watch a bit pause the video and fit the part and return back to his video and play the next step until one Mirror was fitted
Once one side was done I was confident to just do the other side

Went out today on my Spyder and has others have stated the mirrors are rock solid even over speed bumps and rough minor roads

It would be interesting to know how many of us owners have purchased them up to now
I am sure as others will see them and they will order a set, It's a good job Merlot (Russ) is retiring in June as I think he will have a full time job keeping up with new orders
