Default Back rest big bike parts

Has anyone installed the "Smart Mount Back Rest" from Big Bike Parts? If you have , how do you like it? I am having a real hard time justifying almost $500.00 for the Can-Am back rest. Big bike parts one is $199.00.

    Default backrest

I've had that one for about a year. It is great for me. My wife (who rarely rides with me) said it crowded her a little.

I had one installed on a comfort seat that was on my bike. I liked it, but the comfort seat was a little too hard for me. As stated above, it would have taken a bit of space from the passenger, but the wife didn't ride back then. I later came across a deal on an OEM backrest and went back to my stock seat. I picked up my big bike backrest used for around $100. If you are going to pay close to $200, I would check into the one from Utopia. It seems to be a little bigger.

Utopia is right there in the price range, As said it does take up some space. I went with the Quick Out to remove quickly when She want the back seat.
I went with the Cheapest one (and it looks great) because it will be recovered in April

I fitted the Big Bike Parts one, very pleased with it, can't work out how or why it has relieved my aching hips and I don't need to use my highway boards as much, I would recommend it to anyone. Also being short the top of the cushion just sits under my shoulder blades, so comfortable. like others say it does take a bit of room from the passenger space. I'm cosidering having the passenger backrest reduced if my partner complains, it is exceptionally thick

I faced the same cost/benefit problem as you and, after examining the Can-Am backrest at a local dealer, decided to try the Big Bike Parts version. I've been riding with it for several months now and, after fiddling with adjustments for a while, I like the support it provides. And it isn't anywhere near as visually overpowering as the Can-Am version. The Can-Am version may be more comfortable but I've not been able to convince myself it's that many $$$ more comfortable. My two cents worth.
