    Default A question about screws...

It took me an hour and a half, but I got Doc's RT belt vibration damper installed.
But I know that something is amiss...
You have to remove the mirrors, the air deflectors, top panel side panel tank panel, and lower panel.
(Unless you follow finless Bob's video: I didn't)
Anyway: I ended up with one short screw that doesn't seem to go anywhere...
I know that one short screw fits on the top rear of the side panel; where should this one be placed?

(For the time being: I left one screw out of the top panel... )
    Thanks!

yes the side panel has a short screw, like the top panel in the back, but it is a little longer than the one in the back, by about 1/8"

I bet I know which one it is.....

Open the seat and look just in front of the passenger grip handle.
There is one short screw that holds the end corner of the mid-panel on.

Let me know if I got it right

    Smile Try this Bob

    Hay Bob,

    Try this. it might help:

When a panel comes off, put all the fasteners in a sandwich bag and tape it to the panel. I've never lost a screw when I've used this trick. When I taught auto shop we took a single cylinder motor apart and it had to start upon re-assembly. I used the baggie trick to huge success with classes of 25 to 28 kids in teams.

    Lost parts cause::::::::::::: Kaos

I normally try to do something like that...

But I was in a hurry. This was a "Stealth Project", that the Missus didn't know about...
She was indoors, and I was trying to cut corners.

    Bob,
I really did try to pull the side panel without removing the mirror and top panel. I just didn't have enough room to work safely, so I went back to basics.

Glad you got it installed and figured out the missing bolt! So, have you rode it yet?

I didn't use them on my bike...
I gave them to another new Spyder rider, as a "welcome to the Party" gift.
But I DID tell him that they came from you!

from the factory. guess the assembler didnt care . it fit the threads.
