For those with BRP Traile Module
I have had to replace my trailer module a couple of times. BRP wants $148.00 for a new one. It is mad by Hopkins Manufacturing Corporation. I sent them an email asking if I could send them a defective module and have them refurbish it. Here is there reply.
Unfortunately, we do not offer any service to refurbish these units. I do apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause, but our only option would be the purchase of a new unit. On a vehicle such as yours we have learned, from consumers like yourself, that the best option are the Power Converters. Part numbers 46365 and 46255, would be the ones we would typically see sold to be used on your vehicle. If you would like to discuss this with a member of our Product Support Team, please call 800-835-0129.

Sure just replace the module with another Hopkins one or another brand if you wish. This has come up many times before. As you say a lot cheaper.
If you keep burning out modules maybe you should fix the trailer first. Then the module should last the life of the Spyder.

MODULE FAILURE
I might be wrong on this - but I seem to recall this type of thing occurring because of GROUNDING FAILURES ......ie. people were using the ball and coupler as the GROUND connection from trailer to Spyder - RATHER than having a direct solid connector wire doing the GROUND connection from Trailer wiring system to Spyder wiring system ....... Right you are Mike, been at this many years and most the time with trailer wiring issues the ground is the culprit.

If anyone is interested, I have information on how to make your own fully isolated 5 wire to 4 wire trailer converter. I'm planning on making one myself.

Are you going to make it like I did. Plug and play just like the BRP one.
