My dealer called me last Friday and said I should have it by beginning of Feb. He said it is supposed to be shipped to him on the 27th or 28th of this month. I sure hope so because I would really like it on when I go to Daytona in March.
My dealer also said he already had the matching side panels in house

    Default Soon....

One never knows....I did see the 17 F3 with trunk back in October and noticed that they have a locking system that holds the lid up and it had already failed. Hope they have found a better way to do this...My trunk has a zipper.. and a shoulder strap...

Well that was a couple days ago, and today the dealer called me and I picked up the cargo box and arm rests. Tomorrow I will install them

    Wow! They really look great!
It's too bad that they still fall 22 liters short of the RT's storage capacity...

Yeah, but F3 riders don't generally take their hair dryers, foot circulations boosters and espresso machines with them Bob, so we don't need as much storage.

I saw the top trunk st the IMS show in Long Beach and in typical BRP fashion they were prototypes. They had no struts to keep them open, I saw a few folks shake their head when they were trying to figure out how to keep it open. It is plenty roomy but feels so flimsy since it didn't have a strut.

The Vistory Vision didn't have a strut in the trunk Ann, and it was the same size as the new F3 trunk. It opened past 90 degrees and had a coiled restraining cable to stop it going past 100 degrees. It worked very well. Did it look like the new F3 trunk wouldn't go past 90 degrees?

I just installed one on the back of mine yesterday and the lid is held open with a latch on the one hinge, you have to depress it in order to close the lid.

Is the lid a single piece like the side covers?

It does come down to how much you must have something that looks like it was on the bike from the factory. That's ultimately what you are paying for.

Like you, I prefer something aftermarket for less money.

Yes the lid is one piece, lockable and it also has the rear speakers, 2 USB ports, 3rd brake light and a light inside when you open it, pretty damn sweet if you ask me. And it looks great and you can see the orange lock open tab for the lid above my hand. Which I think is better than a gas shock that will lose pressure over the years.

That looks good. I don't know why BRP puts prototypes out at big shows. If I was in the market for one of those I'd have been turned off by the one they had at the show.
