Default Wanted to share an idea I came up with today to mount my XM Satellite antenna

Problem I was having was poor reception because didn't have a good place to mount it facing straight up. So here was my solution, took on of those 50cent Hurricane straps you use when building a deck, cut it down and bent it to fit the little cut in on the front of dash under the windshield. Drilled a hole on the cut down strap so I use the screw already there to mount the plate I made. I had to replace the bolt with a longer one and I also painted the strap black. Since the strap is metal and the antenna is a magnet it attaches perfect. Was a little worried that the windshield might hit it when moving it up and down, however no issue. Took it for a test ride on back roads that I always lose reception and it made a hugh differance.

    Default Perfect location

My Triumph Trophy SE has factory XM radio and the antenna is mounted behind the electric windshield. The only place it ever faded out was in the tunnels on Route 77 in Virginia.
