Maintenance Schedule
Does anyone have an accurate up to date maintenance schedule? My wife has a 2014 ST Limited SE5 that she bought brand new last May, The dealer told her first maintenence was 3000 miles, which we did it also cost close to $400. So I wanted to do the oil changes. What I read Baja Ron is a good supplier for oil and filter? Do you run full or semi synthetic oil? Thanks
Dave

I remember reading there was a link for service manual, I believe it was on CD? Does anyone have that link? I can't seem to find it.

Well....
The next one would be at 12,000 something but the oil you can change yourself at where you feel is best. I know they say 9,000 plus but have not seen tests showing the oils used last that long before breaking down........

Check your manual and YES
Bajaron the best place to buy oil change needs. I use full synthetic. Buy all my necessary filters, o rings, washers, etc. from Ron...I order 2 at a time. Ron also sells lots of other "necessary for Spyder" stuff...including rain gear, ryding clothes. Fast, honest service...Highly recommend.

I do mine at 4500 because it just seems easier to remember then 4600. I don't figure 100 miles early is gonna hurt anything (). I get my supplies from bajaron on this website and I buy my oil from Wal Mart online Valvoline 4T full synthetic 10-40. It works great and is fairly inexpensive for a synthetic. I have a 2012 RT but it has the same engine as your ST.

The dealer blew it. Your 2014 ST (V-Twin) runs on a totally different schedule. The initial or (break-in) should have been done around 600 miles. Oil change services then on 4,500 intervals. They are going to tell you that at 14,000 miles you need to have your valves checked. Recommend that you do not do it. It will add about $800 to the $400 oil change service and in most cases--the valves did not need to be touched. I did one at 14K and one at 28K and found both to be a waste of money. I am NOT going to do anything with the valves until at least 50K (If I still have it then).
It would not surprise me if some of the dealers that charge you an extra $800 for the valve check service--even look at them. Caveat Emptor!
It bothers me that selling dealers don't even know the correct maintenance schedule for the V-twin and the 1330 triple. I have one of each and know them both well.
BRP dealers (since 2014) have had to know about 2 different engines (the 998 twin, and the 1330 triple). Amazing that some do not know the differences between the two, and then try to keep things straight.

It bothers me the V-twin, and the F3S came with the triple. I tried to correct him, but he would not listen. So I just told the story on our local facebook forums, and advised everyone to beware.

To update this thread, I talked to BRP and the dealer, they told to stay on maintenance schedule in my owners manual, the dealer admitted they made a mistake and the bike should have been in at 600 miles. They apologized and said it was there fault.
