Why not try cleaning it from the outside first?
Take a toothbrush, and little bit of solvent to it...

    A little WD-40.

Default Here's what I would do...

some compressed air and some WD40 will do the trick. A couple of times and you'll be set. Going in there is not for the week at heart...

I have removed three screws from the back of the switch housing but it appears that there something more holding it together.

Do you have a shop manual?
They always help, when you're digging deeper into the bike, than you anticipated.
As I recall: those three screws should be enough: you're down to the "wiggle and jiggle it" part of the job.

I haven't had my Spyder long enough to need to lube the buttons yet. But, on my Goldwing and BMW whenever I had a sticky button or switch, I used silicone spray to both get the button un-stuck and lubricated. The silicone spray works far better than wd-40. Just take care to not get it all over your plastic. Sometimes it's necessary to partially loosen the switch to be able to get the silicone where it needs to go. Anyway, that has always worked for me and a bunch of goldwingers.

I was a long time Goldwinger and yes have used silion spray on button to free them but it did not work on this one. I need to know if there is a trick to getting LH multi function switch cover off of the handlebars, I do not to force it and break something.
