Default Seek and you shall find...

A search will net you a mind boggling array of tires and opinions...as for myself I have found no problem with the oem kendas. Long lastingcand great handling. That's my experience....

Kumho Solus KH 16 in 175R65/15. Smoother riding and better handling than stock tires.

For me, for the fronts, the OEM Kenda's do the job. Usually 20K to 25K before they need replacing.

Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

    Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)

MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles

IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

.I could spend an hour talking about front tires...... but in the end it will all boil down to " EXCELLENT FRONT ALIGNMENT ". ie Rolo / Tru-Trac Lazer alignment. I've had super sticky front tires and that just caused the " NANNY " to kick in more often.....So lesson learned .....Mike

Default +1 to the Kumhos in the 155/60-15 size on our 15 RTs

We are now Kumhos all around with the 225/15 Kumhos on the rear getting around 20,000 miles and the front Kumhos projected at around 40,000+. Here is a pic of the fronts after 20,000 mi compared to the new ones. Wife loves the roll and handling at 17 psi cold, so the new ones go on my bike this year. DSCN1593.jpg

Highly recommend getting a check-up on the alignment when you get a chance. We have had ours aligned but probably will get them checked again as the miles roll by. Glad we have had an initial ROLO alignment. Any feedback on how often others get their alignment re-checked?

    Default OEM's

I agree with Chupuca....I have no issue with the OEM's....at 16k on current and lots of rubber left. I run the OEM on rear until I replace than I have gone with the Khumo Esta...but when I get to the rear I always check here and make decision then. But for front's...when these need replacing I will go OEM.

Kumho tires have and continue to work for my two Spyders.

    No More Kendas.

    Good Luck

    Default HANKOOK

I'VE DONE KUMHO's, ACTUALLY I THINK I WAS THE VERY 1st TO MOUNT ONE ON A SPYD3R BACK IN '09....
I'VE HAD THEM FRONT AND BACK SINCE... STILL HAVE A KUMHO ON THE REAR OF MY F3, IT'S THE 2nd ONE ON THIS SPYD3R...
I COULDN'T FIND THE KUMHO's FOR THE FRONT THAT I HAD MOUNTED ON THE 'RS' I HAD, SO I LOOKED FURTHER, AND SETTLED ON THE HANKOOK's.... I NOW WILL LOOK AT THE HANKOOK's FOR THE REAR AS WELL.... BTW, EVEN WITH THE BIGGER SIZE UP FRONT, I STILL HAVE PLENTY OF CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE TIRES AND FENDERS....

The 155 is what I ran before trying the 175. As good as the 155's were the 175 is a whole step up in handling

I am running Continental Contiprocontact size: 165/60R-15 on the fronts. Put on this year( original miles on the Kenda's were 12, 807) I now have 3,193 miles on the Continental Contiprocontact. I have a 2014 RTS-SE6. Spyder handles excellent in rain.

Here is are some pictures of the Continental Contiprocontact tires: New Front Tires ( Continental) 014.jpg New Front Tires ( Continental) 009.jpg New Front Tires ( Continental) 013.jpg space between fender/and my finger. I am running the Continental Contiprocontact tires @ 19PSI. Deanna

I've got the Federal Formoza in the stock size on my 2014 RT and I love them. Great handling and I should get really good mileage out of them. Available at newegg.com or ebay

I took a set of Kendas off and the handling difference was amazing with the Formozas

We would be happy to laser align your bike. We have done alignment events there in Boise a few times. We can Square you Away if you make the trip! Lots of folks do, as our little town has a lot to offer: any excuse to visit Las Vegas!! Give us a call to set it up!!
