I believe there is a slight difference in the offset of the wheels. More positive offset on the RT. That's why you have to bend the fender brackets out a bit if you use the RT wheels on the RS.

Congrats! Two wheels is a ton of fun!
Thanks to all! After a couple of rides around the KC area, I can tell you the bike handles great. The spyder was a ton of fun, but it's nice to lean and have the two wheel experience.
And...
I've had a great time with the Spyder, but I had the opportunity to move on to something else. Reno's Yamaha in the south KC area just started stocking Ducati, so say hello to my new ride! It's a...
What's the mess like when you change a tire filled with ride-on? I'm considering using it too, but don't want to make my tire guys too mad. :dontknow:
Get well soon.
I'd be afraid to ask how much... But I guess if you have to ask, you can't afford it.:dontknow:
I was there last fall at the JMTC and didn't see any Spyders, but I would love to take mine and go over there for an extended stay. It is a beautiful place!
Thanks everyone!
All of my wheels and the pulley were cut by Ride Wright Wheels. I used one of their designs, but they do have the capability to program custom designs into their CNC...
Here's the latest addition. The rear wheel and pulley to match the fronts. The tire is a Toyo R1R 245/35-17 and the wheel is a 17x8. I don't have much clearance between the tire and the belt, but...
I think they probably look at cost before they look at what would be better to stand up to paint chips. I know my panels were all made of black plastic, then painted. Unless something has changed,...
That's the plastic panel showing through where the paint has chipped away. I had some deep scratches in parts of mine where some stuff fell on it in the garage, so I used it as an excuse to get a...
While we're on the discussion of changing tires, I'm curious what everyone is changing while they have the assembly torn apart. I changed the bearings and seals, along with the outer spacers, at my...
Most have said this is the normal replacement mileage. Not premature. Part of the problem is the thinner construction of this "special" motorcycle tire. At speed, it tends to expand in the center...
I took mine to a local tire guy to have it mounted and balanced (Goodyear tire center I think?). Most any tire shop can change it. It just requires a balancer that fits in the really small center...
I thought there was a forum rule about political discussions? This should be closed, because it is not a simple discussion about freedom. It's a political discussion about me and everyone else that...
I went another route all together, but if I remember correctly you can use the 1" block with the 3" esi risers. It's trying to use the 1" block with the 4" risers that gets beyond the available slack...
I don't think the point is to tell everyone to live an entirely risk averse life, but to point out that engaging in overly risky behavior ends up costing tax payers and the general public something. ...
I like the military's stance on this subject. A Soldier is required to wear a helmet, gloves, long sleeves, bright or reflective clothing in limited visibility situations, long pants, and leather...
There are a lot of different factors: candy paint, multiple colors per panel, type of paint, etc. You may be looking at upwards of $2,500, depending on what exactly you want. The best way to do it...
I'm curious if you can install just the front sprocket without the damper and keep all of the other parts stock for the 08. I know that most are probably wanting the damper, so they can reduce the...
Short of putting the Harley V-Twin in your Spyder you will never get that sound. There are some awesome sounding alternatives, but as others have said, the bore/stroke combination is completely...
I'd be happy to meet up with you KC ryders. I will be headed out of town tomorrow and won't return until next Saturday, but lets try to work on something soon.
I haven't been to St. Louis since around '99 or 2000. If I do get to the east side of the state, or if there is something arranged around mid Missouri, I'll give you a shout. I hope to get to the...
Did anyone ever get a reliable answer on whether this will retrofit. I don't think a slight difference in the clutch should preclude this from fitting an 08. As long as the output shaft is the...
I was riding my spyder through Zona Rosa in Kansas City on Wednesday evening (15 June) and I think I saw a woman sitting at the Irish pub on the corner wearing a Spyderlovers t-shirt. I did a double...
Madstad Robo brackets are the only way to go. Adjustable for the season, your height, and any other factor you can imagine.
Thanks to everyone for letting me vent. I received my floorboards tonight. They are great quality and look fantastic. Most of all, they are very comfortable! Thanks again!
Check to see if you have the 3rd Generation pads. It solved the issue for me!
Unfortunately, if you want to keep the same width or offset, you have to do something to clear the brake caliper. From what I understand, the RT wheels do not protrude quite so much, because offset...
