I used a heat gun on my after market badges when i got my handlebar insert chromed. Put the idents in a plastic baggie and reused them. Try not to touch the glue with your fingers

Do you have the manual it shows how to do it. I think there is a small 10 mm bolt on the bottom that has to come out and the two 13mm next to the brake lines, its tough but can be done with patience...
