I tend to ride until the temperature drops to 8-9 degrees C (46-48 deg F). Under my current jacket (an Icon Patrol), I like to wear a turtle neck ski base layer, which I was thinking of...
Hi, guys:
I am planning on buying a Klim Gore-Tex jacket. Klim being a windprood/waterproof outer shell without insulation, I need a thermal layer and I am considering a heated liner.
Things...
There actually is a rather well-hidden option that allows you to download the full-detail maps onto your computer so you can see them without having to plug in your GPS:
Start Garmin Express:

This is how I find it manageable to work with BaseCamp: (Note that I tend to plan mostly day trips, 4-8 hours in my area)
I start with a work folder in which I keep only a collection of...
I also tried, but gave up at the end.
Streets & Trips does not export mid-points along the route, so the different routing algorithms between Microsoft and Garmin yield different results.

I actually am in a (Spyder) afterlife ;)... Enjoying every minute on my FJR.
This forum is still hard to beat, in terms of knowledge base and activity level, so I keep coming back.
Can't...
The T-Rex is also made in Quebec, just like the Spyder. I suspect that some lobbying groups had a lot more money to "spend" ;) than others.
...Ben...
Around here, (Quebec) you need a full motorcycle driver's license to drive a T-Rex or a Slingshot, but a car driver's license plus a 1day training with no exam for a Spyder!
Go figure what our...
Here's an old thread showing how a few people did it, including my own setup. (Before I sold the Spyder)

I owned a 2011 RT for 2 years. It happened to me once, 2-3 months after I bought it new. It was during a very long right hand turn on the highway. It also went on limp mode. I exited the highway and...
On top of it all, I like your sense of humour !!!
I admire your determination to ride.
Be safe !!!

BRP worked so hard with so many jurisdictions to facilitate recognition of their trike as something that does not require a full-blown motorcycle permit that it would be very unlikely that they would...
This reminds me of my last car: a new 2006 Dodge Charger R/T.
Chrysler did not have auto headlight option available in 2006. When it became available in 2007, I checked what parts I needed, and it...
Everyone's different. I went back to a 2 wheeler after 2 seasons on an RT.
With unlimited storage space and friendlier bank manager, I would have kept the Spyder for 2-up riding, but it only...
Quote from the Madagascar movie: It's not personal, it's just that we are better than you. :roflblack:

I found on my RT that at highway speed, I would be in a calm bubble but when big transverse wind gusts would happen, the "bubble" would burst, and I would get jerked sideways by the wind blast....
...not quite sure about matching ride color first... I'd rather find a lid that fits, then choose the color than the other way around.
Everyone has his own priorities, but For me fit & comfort...
Congrats !
I also went back on 2 wheels. Could not keep both rides though, so I traded the Spyder when I bought the new bike.
My kids really liked riding with me on the RT. I assume that...
I have personally always waved at everyone too. Around here, about 70% waved back when I was on a Spyder, and about 85% on my motorcycle. There is a small, but noticeable difference in my area.

It seems like a rather generalized feeling from the 2 wheeler community.
I recently read a facebook post from a motorcycle assosciation asking if their members would consider riding a Spyder: Many...
I went down the same road and also replaced my Spyder with a two-wheeler.
As you can see, I am still hanging around. There is a lot to be learned here, no matter what you ride.
Stay safe.

It is the nature of the beast.
When the Spyder is turned off, the SM10 does not receive its power from the Spyder radio, so it uses its internal battery, which slowly depletes. Once the battery is...
Thanks for the good wishes.
You will definitely hear from me again. There are so many discussions in this forum about fuse block, GPS, battery tenders, tracking software, run-flat, lighting,...
I decided to go back to two-wheelers, and just bought a 2014 Yamaha FJR1300ES (Canadian version is black):

The dealer told me it had automatic air conditionning. It does have intermittent problems, however: on cold days, it does not turn off and sometimes on warm days it does not turn on.
I have one...

I was expecting that the antenna would be a challenge, it did not occur to me that the noise from the vehicule itself would be an issue.
I am considering this radio for a motorcycle: I already...
Anyone knows a small FM radio that would have built-in bluetooth transmitter that I could pair directly with my Sena SMH10r Intercom and listen to FM radio ?
I'd love to do it with my iPhone, but...
