I was going to say... '78,00 miles in 1 year!'. That's an average of 213+ miles each day! I would get on my Spyder today and ride to Utah just to shake your hand! Thanks Pete! You saved me the trip!

I agree. Even damaged belts will run fine depending on what the damage is. Missing teeth or broken altogether is about the only 2 things that warrant replacement.

Surf the site here for a myriad of ways to lift the Spyder. From tailgates to ATV lifts. I did my BIL's with a cheesy little floor jack and a lot of cribbing. Though I had 2 brothers and the BIL to...

Everything ages and wears out. But the drive belt on the Spyder is pretty bullet proof. Check it once in awhile. But other than this, just ride and enjoy.

We adjust with the wheel off the ground, rear tire raised with the axle tight but just loose enough so that the tension adjusters can still move the axle rearward. We only adjust rearward. If we need...

Make it easy on yourself. If you can get one for less locally, I would go that route. You don't have to get it from me. But I'm glad you're doing it. I think you will be much better off when able to...

I would not run a belt very long after such an adjustment without getting the tension checked. The Krikit II tension gauge is very inexpensive and easy to use. A lot cheaper than a new belt or wheel...

I am a bit surprised. Tension and tracking are 2 sides of the same coin. One always affects the other. With the price of a Krikit II to check tension, I'm not sure why you would take this approach.

I think the problem will be quite evident once they get into the CVT. I doubt the tech will have much trouble finding the cause.

You're lucky to get much over 110 mph. The windshield makes a BIG difference. I went from almost no windshield to a small one on my 2008 GS and lost over 10mph top speed. Extrapolate this to the barn...

Any of the options offered will do you fine. You're probably wasting your money to change oil sooner than 3,000 miles. But if it makes you feel better, the cost may be worth it.

Asking just out of curiosity. I like to observe how people ride. At our recent rally I watched the different ways people pulled out of the parking lot. We all have our own personal style. That's one...

It is ironic that the very purpose and one great advantage of the CVT system is in its ability to maintain a consistent, unvarying engine RPM.

The OP states 'Under the Seat'. Sounds like CVT chatter to me and not a driveshaft issue. The driveshaft on the Ryker is pretty bullet proof. Not saying it couldn't be the driveshaft. But why would a...

So, you're saying that you can't easily spin your wheels with the brakes disengaged? You need to re-do the install if this is the case. Not a good idea to wear down a set of pads by having them...

You should run at least 2 increments (we do 3) or phases on the torque process. If you torque one lug nut to full spec with the other 2 loose, that can warp your rotor.

That is unusual. Using the wrong torque procedure could warp the rotors. But this is fairly hard to do. Do you have a runout gauge to check your rotors with?
