Thank you all for the input. Looks like soap and water wins. The WD-40 worked great but I was concerned about doing damage to the paint or plastics as Road-Kill said.
Buy it!
What are you folks using to clean the frames and other metal parts on your spyders? I have had good luck with WD-40 sprayed on a rag.
What color F3-T are you going to get?
I'll stay with the BRP filter,"O"-rings and washers. No K&N products on my Spyder.
Madmartigan, Also take a look at Viking if you want a reasonably priced hard saddlebag.

The experience you just had with calling that dealer you spoke of in post #5 is why lots of us do our own work and many others have to drive an hr to find a good dealer. BRP really needs to fix this...
Wish I could sit back and watch this show! Best advice I can give you is to get at the headlights from the access panels on top (where the air filter is on the right and the oil dipstick is on the...
Steamer, I had to remove the cover and the proper torque setting is 92ft lbs so I set the torque wrench to 70ft lbs to avoid breaking the lock tite bond. I found no movement on two spyders that I...
Reading your thread has prompted me to check the front sprocket on both my spyder and a friends. I don't have a shop (service) manual yet so I needed the proper torque settings in case I find a...
What is the proper torque setting for the bolt?
Send me a message when you get into town. I would be glad to meet ya!
Welcome to Myrtle Beach! I plan to take the F3s out for a ride and check out all the bikes and vendors after the rain stops. The town gets crazy busy from this weekend on for the rest of the summer....
Do you have a part number for the heat shields?
I have found that other drivers can see me much better. I added the Lamonster LED headlights and the fog light/ring combo for daytime visibility and people don't pull out in front of me anymore. I...
WOW!, your saddlebags are HUGE!!!!!
I think you are smart for changing your oil sooner. I have the same engine (1330) and changed my oil at 500 then at 1500 miles and used the BRP summer blend oil change kit. You will be surprised at...
Does anybody know how to wire the BRP-USB outlet to the costumer accessory circuit? I would like to mount it in the hole where the heated driver grips button would go. I can see that the hole will...
Wish we had dealers like that around here. The one in town is incompetent and the one an hr to the south is a rip off. I was charged $800 to change the wheels, add a swaybar and skid plate......this...
Thank you for your efforts with this testing. This is one of the videos that I have been waiting for because I am trying to decide if I want to do anything with my exhaust. What set-up gave the best...
My manual says 500ml (17 U.S. oz)
Thanks for the advice. I have all the work documented in the back of my owners manual and I did save all of my receipts from the OEM parts that I used (gaskets, O-rings and Rotax filters). I like the...
Does anybody know how to properly (legally) document services when you do them yourself? Being a retired Machinist/Toolmaker I just feel better about doing my own work rather than leave my spyder...

I got the BRP belt tensioner and Lamonsters fog light and ring kit installed yesterday and everything went together very well. I was surprised at how much dust and dirt was under the seat and panels...
