Highly recommended from a place where 104 is considered "not too bad"
Not horrible here... about 105. :yikes: Had to go downtown (about 15 miles), so rode the Spyder. Wore the chamois neck-kerchief and sleeves. Not bad for the 30 min ride. The Spyder did get a...
It's the width that will get you. The GS is 60" wide. Most enclosed trailers' openings are less than that.
So... you talk to them yet? (Ina or 22nd St?) If they made a really good offer, I might be tempted. (That new BMW GS Adventure is calling me!)
Well, the first thing is to quit calling the Frunk a "Bonnet" Nobody on this side of the ocean knows what you're talking about! We usually call them "bra's" ;)
Actually, I couldn't find one...
Still have a BMW 1150GS, no plan to sell it, like it too much. I prefer the Spyder for most of my in town riding (safety, visability and water cooling), like the Beemer for the twistys and long...
Was through there last year, and the stretch from San Antonio to El Paso was running about 85+. Nice run... except for the 50mph side winds and driving rain! If anyone does take I-10 through there,...
Still closed for the winter, and as long as you have reasonable ground clearance, you can make it in a 2wd pickup or SUV. Only 4wd if it's been raining and/or some lingering snow. I've done it...
Glad you enjoyed it. I've lived in Tucson for 30+ years and never tire of the Mt Lemmon ride. Sometimes on the Spyder, sometimes on the BMW, but always great. I don't try to keep up with anyone...
Check all the hose clamps on the fuel lines. The ones securing the fuel filter on mine were loose and gas was dripping everywhere. Also route the vent toward the rear of the bike. Early versions...
gotta be a misprint... $4000 sounds more reasonable.:dontknow:
If you are hauling the trailer empty, it will sway. Hard to distribute a load when there is none... and the ramp definitely makes it tail heavy. I added an anti-sway damper to my setup and that...
Agreed. the Spyder is 60" across the front. You'd be scraping the sides (assuming your trailer has sides).
6x10 works fine. Actually, mine is 76x120 with a 4" drop axle, so I don't have an issues loading. Without the drop, you can extend the ramp with 2x6's, or just raise the front end of the trailer...
Calsci is a great company and a lot of good information is on their website. Good reading even if you're not shopping for a new screen now. I have one of their shields on my BMW GS and it has made...
might check New Enough. They have the Nelson Rigg Mini saddle bags on closeout.
I'm in Tucson and should be around if you get this way. Sierra Vista/Bisbee/Tombstone is only an hour away. A lttle further west there's some nice rides around Arivaca, too. I would avoid Show Low...
oh yea!
Can't make it his year, (same day as the Tucson Marathon), but it's a great cause and a sight to behold with all the decorated bikes! Enjoy!
I mounted Tour Tank (3-gal) on a frame welded together out of an old bedframe. Mounts to the grabrails and sits about 6" above the seat so I can still open it. Also added a Pelican case for...
Curious.. I got it, answered, started to fill out the "survey", until they asked what was the most recent bike I purchased. Then, I answered (truthfully) the most RECENT purchase was my 2000 BMW...
While I cannot verify personally, I believe a few folks who use the Nelson-Rigg or Cortech bags turn them around (narrow end pointed forward) which frees up some foot room for the passenger.
Awesome! Thanks! Just what I wanted... Order is goin' in.
:2thumbs:
I like the pucks, but have a question. Do you also have the TIPZ kit installed?... and if so... since the fender tip lights flash with the turn signals (and you tie into that circuit), do the pucks...
so is that when the "nanny" kicked in and spoiled all the fun?
:2thumbs:
Nice job, Matt! It was a picture perfect day for a ride.
:2thumbs:
I was up there through Payson and Strawberry on sat, but travelling alone (from Tucson). I was on the way to meet Spydergirl and about 10 other owners in Flag. for a Sunday ride to Prescott. Check...
Also made it back home to Tucson in one piece. Pretty good dust storm around Casa Grande but missed most of the rain. Man, does this thing suck gas at 80! On the back way up Sat, at 60-65, I got...
